I was thrilled to see Jeff's name mentioned here. My son worked out and with Jeff for some time in the late 90's. I would see Jeff occasionally at a local Italian restaurant in Fitchburg, he always remembered me and asked about my son's career. My son retired last year, he played a season in Malta and then sat a season on the bench for the Rapids, after Fernando Clavijo moved to coach in Colorado. My son didn't get cut, he trained with them (and played in a minor league team) but later moved to NYC, Clavijo was very kind and offered for him to return if it didn't work out. Jeff kept up with all of my son's GK antics, ended up in a Green Industry job but played for all the minor league teams in NYC. Saw Jeff at a game once when my son was playing against the Western Mass Pioneers. He always worked well with kids in the camps.

ATL down to 2 healthy keepers on their roster: Shuttleworth and first year home grown Justin Garces. Meanwhile the Revs will have 5 once Turner returns to health and Petrovic arrives. Would ATL pursue Knighton or Edwards as a backup to Shuttleworth? Trading deadline is May 4th.

More likely ATL will sign someone from outside the league.

I was thinking the same thing - probably not a big price there, but we're going to need to clear some goalkeeper space sooner or later. If it's Knighton, that could clear some cap space for us.

Got curious about our departed Caicedos.
Luis is fully healthy, he's played 1600 minutes in 20 matches back in Colombia.
Juan Fernando scored 13 goals in 3200 minutes across all comps last year for the team currently 2nd in Colombia.
Penilla (also a caicedo!) is a bench played for Barcelona in Ecuador (top of the table).

Bobby Shuttleworth has retired from MLS.

Shuttleworth is one of only two goalkeepers, along with Matt Reis, to play in more than 100 matches and see more than 10,000 minutes for New England.

Very quietly, Austin is sneaking into the Supporter's Shield talk in only their second season?

They are atop the Supporter's Shield standings with 40 pts, although LAFC are still ahead on PPG.

Golazo is such an over-used, diluted call now. It was a well-taken free kick - something highly skilled players should be able to hit occasionally.

Why we left him exposed to the expansion draft I'll never understand.

His goal-scoring record, with the Revs and after, was pretty light. He was at best a complementary player, and I don't blame the Revs for moving on.

Totally unrelated, but I've enjoyed following @RevsHistory on Twitter and Instagram. Not sure if many of you old timers on either of those platforms, but they've been posting a lot of good content from the olden days.
