is there anybody out there thats fans of the NY/NY team??? i hope so because this is sad.. i was around for the NY Power days and there weren't many of us on here either... the tri-state area is usually a huge place for sports teams to get fans.. why the struggle here??

Maybe because the team hasn't actually played a game yet?

Well, neither have the Red Stars or Athletica, and you've got some pretty robust fan groups going already. Same for the Freedom and Breakers. I'd have thought Sky Blue would have some momentum after two seasons of W-league play. You've got to have someone willing to lead the effort, and I think that's what's probably lacking.

During the first year of W=League they had a fan group... ok - it was like 3 people

anyway... my point is that no one is willing to do the supporters group and work with the team..

I'd be more apt to be a big fan if I could actually find their schedule anywhere on their website.

The NY Power played out in no mans land. Yurcak Field is very close to major highway system. If you build it they will come. Have faith.

I will be driving back from the Houston Dynamo @ DC United game on Sunday, so I might stop by here. Any word on a standing section?

According to one of the Sky Blue blogs, she has a knee injury (pre-existing, if I remember correctly) that will require further attention, so she is returning home for treatment. I imagine that rules her out for this year.

now this is getting freaky. There are only 42 posts on this thread, but there are EIGHT HUNDRED for the Breakers?! I hope this is a colossal accident and no indication of fan turnout.

with the firepower they have on the team (O'Reilly, Kai) you'd figure they will

I am hoping to move to NYC by the end of the year... Even if I'll miss the first season, I'll definitely get season tickets next year if I'm there!!!!

i'll probably attend a game or 2 to check it out. unfortunately i'll be in europe for the first 2 home games, which i would rather attend, but i can make it out to rutgers no problem at some point during the summer. i hope there is a decent standing section.

$19 for a ticket though? i pay less than that for RBNY tickets.

I'm wondering the SAME thing as the OP. WHERE are all the fans for Sky Blue?? You guys have a VERY LOW amount of posts in this section. LESS than 100 posts while all other WPS teams have SEVERAL hundred.

This is not a good sign as it could be a reflection of lack of interest at the gate for your first game. I hope I'm wrong but how do you explain it?

I posted this on the LA thread, but does anyone known which games will be on matchtracker this weekend and who is tweeting from the games?
