Just want to know who's out there still keeping faith about bringing a Pro-Soccer Club back to Tampa? Plus, I just want to see some old faces here again.
Not a old timer, but a frequent observer of all things Florida, soccer and especially Tampa. Unfortunately, our only hope at this point is either this odd Plant City soccerplex the County might build or this rumored USL1 team that will come, some day.
I just moved to Spring Hill Florida about 40 miles north of Tampa. I would love if tampa got an mls team or even a usl team.
I'd love to see another quality club here. Even a second tier league. But I don't know how much I can support something in Plant City. I can't even find Plant City on a map. Maybe something up north, between New Tampa area and Northwest Area (Citrus Park, Town and Country, Westchase, Carrolwood). Heck, you could fill the roster with former HC United/US Baby Nats.
Yeah, but location wise it's bad for most of Pinellas County, the most populous areas of Pasco, and western Hillsborough. Which are three very active areas in terms of youth soccer. It's good for the Brandon area, so so for New Tampa, okay for Bradenton/Sarasota and South Tampa. Also very convenient to Lakeland.
The Tampa-area SoccerPlex, known as Championship Park, is located north of Plant City off of Interstate 4. However, I have doubts it will ever happen. Read this: http://www.tampatrib.com/News/MGBT5KBTJEE.html
With Miami FC now joining the USL 1st Division, my hopes for a Tampa Bay Club has reignited. Miami will need another close Travel partner other than the Puerto Rico Islanders. The next closest team to them is Atlanta.
