I really hope that Jaime doesn't score this weekend against the revs, but rather Thursday in the game against Lagals. I think he would get a lot more publicity (which he deserves) since the game is sold out and on ESPN2 with everybody wanting to see becks on the "Beckham cam" sit on the bench.

instead they will see one of the best players to ever play in MLS

    Fair enough.

Though I would hope that Jaime gets multiple assists against NE in a decisive DC win. It would certainly shut up all the "Noonen has 1,327 assists" comments we are sure to hear endlessly.

I do concure. I think Beckham will play in DC. I think the only reason he might not play on Sunday is due to the fact that Toronto plays on turf and turf+ankle injury=worse ankle at the end of the day. Seeing as how we play on grass I think there is a shot. Either way who cares as long as our team shows up to actually PLAY!

It was a complete joke when I started saying it, back before Jaime was at 107 - but I still have a (more real every day) fear that by the end of the year, Ante Razov will have passed Jaime before Jaime passes Jason Kreis. So Jaime will never have the distinction of being the league's leading goal scorer, and that would be a shame.

    BITE

    YOUR

    TONGUE

(O soccer gods, do not heed the words of this poor, misguided individual. Smite down with outrageous malice Ante Razov and all other rivals to the blessed Jaime's rightful crown.)

I think 108 is the magic number no one can cross. Kries hits 108 and retires. Jaime hits it and hasn't scored in 3 months. Razov will hit 108 and spontaneously explode. :)

Seriously, I think Rob has a a good point. Jaime has a history of upstaging almost any other media superstar that plays in the same game with him. I'll never forget his 2 goals when he had been left for dead and all the focus was on it being Freddy's first game.

i have a feeling that he does it today in NE.

Then he has a hat trick on the World stage on Thursday.

    That is my feeling.

    DC 2-1 today
    DC 5-0 on thursday
    DC 3-0 in Super liga

That's something I've been saying for awhile, too.

Jaime's window is getting smaller and smaller.

Man, I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking "he's going to break the record" when he controlled the bouncing ball just outside the box. If not for his fitness that should have been a goal. Looking forward to that day as I would hate to see that slot unfulfilled much like the MVP award that should have happened in 04'.
C'mon Jaime! Break the damn record in front of 40K+, national TV, Beckham and retire Cobi's ass in style.

I should have made this sooner. The last time I made one of these before a big game Jaime scored his 100th on a penalty 7 min. into the game. My efforts were rewarded quickly. I am bringing this to C'bus tomorrow. I hope it works!

I am looking forward to a great game tomorrow, but perhaps I am a little bit greedy?

BTW both of those were done with the same Sharpie Magnum marker. Those things are awesome. you would not want to see it back lit, but it looks alot sharper than the original!

What about 111 if he get's a hat-trick? Or is that honor reserved for Bennie?

I used to always be 6 (Harkes) or 12, but it looks like I'll either be 9 or 14 (Scrum-half or wing) for my Rugby team this fall. I'd like to think that when I'm wearing 14 (as I did for our last 7's tournament) I play like Bennie would if he were a rugger.
