San Jose ranked 4th best for quality of life in the United States

 

Although I’m pleased San Jose is recognized for a high quality of life, it ain’t due to the giant monopoly board.

 

Yeah. But this is better....I've lived in the south bay virtually my whole life and I have no idea where there's a "giant monopoly board".

“Cradled by the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains and Diablo Range, San Jose offers a prime environment for outdoorsy residents, with its proximity to the ocean, the Sierra Nevada and the vineyards — not to mention about 300 sunny days a year,” the report concluded

 

Had me at 300 sunny days a year.

Madison edges out San Jose in the US News and World Report list of best places to live (spoiler alert - Green Bay is #1):

 

Apparently winter weather didn’t bear much significance in the ranking.

Nope that’s there in “value”, where places like Madison and GB scored significantly higher than SJ.

 

many fewer days where the air punches your face than there were 40 years ago - that’s for sure. Lake Mendota is water - not ice before March.. I have never seen that!! Maybe I should plant a Meyer lemon….

If you can hang for another 40 years Madison might be a balmy paradise.

 

The amazing and peaceful rainstorm up here in Redding is very theraputic. Have the windows all open and doors to get that fresh air in the house, and have this guys music playing.... its very peaceful.
