It seems the most popular South American teams are Boca, Flamengo and Corinthians. Is anybody surprised by this?

Current tally for teams not listed above: LDU Quito 6 Internacional 2 The Strongest 2 Caracas FC 1 Sporting Cristal 1 Nacional (Uru) 1 Medellin 1 Cruzeiro 1 Newell's 1 Nacional Atlético Clube 1 Chacarita Jrs. 1 Santiago Wanderers 1 Atletico Junior de Barranquilla 1 Estudiantes 1
Damn, do they still exist? Also does Leon de Huanuco exist? Alfonso Ugarte, the school most of my uncles attended in Lima.
Oh yeah you're right. How could I have forgotten. Temporary memory slip.. sorry. You gotta hate when all these teams, that were formed no more than 5 years ago get to be in the first division. And teams like Leon and CNI who have great history have to struggle to get back to the first division. As they say, money is the root of all evil.
Liga de Quito, beautiful team, great players great coach great stadium, jersey, style. All we need is an international cup to be totally happy although watching Mendez performance today left me a good feeling on the name of LDU.
Sao Paulo/River should start getting more supporters if they win the Libertadores, just like Liverpool did in Europe.
Vasco da Gama ,Brazil San Lorenzo , Arg. The Strongest, Bol Sp. Crystal ,Peru Milinarios , Col Unv. Catolica, Chi Penarol, Uru Liga de Quito, Ecu I think that's the short list
