Landon Donovan was interviewed for close to three minutes live on ESPN News yesterday at 5 p.m. about his player of the year and there is nary an "OMG!" here. I'm disappointed. No frame-by-frame dissection of the anchor's facial movements to discern any "anti-soccer bias." Just a nic einterview that goes by without any notice. Have you lost your touch, soccerfan, or have we made it? Discuss.
Perhaps you've finally succeeded in completely purging this forum of any criticism of or disrespect towards the US sports media or any aspect thereof.
That sucks because I only wanted to get rid of irrational behavior. Hey, you take the bad with the good.
Well the media isn't too bad. Mostly it is the photojournalist types that need to be complained about.
Does this mean that the Expansion Draft didn't actually happen because no true fan was watching ESPNews at the time? Just wondering, 'cos ESPNews has been the mouthpiece for MLS the past couple of weeks... Thx, Jay!
Kenny and Michael Kim had a nice little discussion about Landon's decision the day of the announcement. They were stunned it happened because of the things he said when they had him on the the POY interview.
Soccer will make it in America when people stop saying soccer will make it in America when (fill in absurd measuring stick).
So, that means it made it in America in the summer of 1996? (Or even earlier yet, the summer of 1994?) If you don't know what I'm referring to, don't bother responding.
There will not be one single moment that will "make" soccer in this country, it's a gradual process, unless we were to somehow win the World Cup.
