Even without Davies, Canada would be the big favorite over that T&T team. Just a reminder, T&T AT HOME needed a red card for Dest and a goalkeeping blunder by Turner to beat the USMNT by one goal. They are really mediocre.
Just a reminder they held the USA to zero goals for most of the match in the USA. Three late goals saved us. If they play disciplined and get some lucky bounces it will put all the pressure on Canada since T&T has no pressure at all as underdogs.
Yes. Without Pulisic and Weah on the wings, all we did was dominate a bunkering T&T team and win 3-0. And yes, people see that as evidence that T&T can beat Canada? In what universe? If you're defense of T&T is "maybe they'll get some lucky bounces"......................then you really have nothing. A better defense might be that Levi Garcia came on and scored a great brace for AEK Athens yesterday. Then we'd at least have something meaningful to discuss. He had the USMNT sweating at times in the Gold Cup. Of course, we blew them off the field 6-0 with a B team. And Jamaica blew them off the field in their next game too. So there's that.
I just look at the hypothetical scenarios. Yes, it is likely Canada wins this match cause they are the favorite and have better talent. But it is on a neutral site in which the Central American fans will be coming in droves for the second match and those neutrals usually root for the underdogs within this type of environment. The longer the match is tied the more pressure goes on the favorite. If it is similar to the last time they played in the USA and this time they do not let in some late goals they can find a way to advance. I think their best chance is via penalties. No one is saying they will win or that they are favored. Just that with the way things are developing and the way Canada has been mentally low both on the field and off the field we could have an upset that no one should be surprised about.
Someone's eager to throw "I told you so" around My only worry with this team is the interim coach Mauro Biello (an ex-MLS coach)* who clearly isn't ready to coach a National Team *This isn't a jab at MLS, I'm just having fun about those who said that Bobby Smyrniotis needed MLS level before being considered for the job (CPL being too low) - yet we currently have a coach that coached at that level demonstrating that there's more to coaching than that... Smyrniotis would have adjusted to Jamaica and made the right changes - Biello couldn't and there's been report that current NT players lobbied for Smyrniotis - he develop a few of them after all... What do we have going on lately -Jonathan David is on fire in France (2nd overall) -Buchanan starting earn minutes at Inter Milan -Ike Ugbo keeps scoring in Championship -Theo Bair on fire in Scotland -Theo Corbeanu scores in La Liga -Larin staying productive in La Liga -Brym playing well in Eridivisie -Even Cavallini started scoring again in Liga MX -Shaffelberg proving me right about Toronto FC having no idea what the hell they are doing with Canadian talents) Win or lose - Biello is done

That they need to sell a lot of them Canada Soccer is burning through cash. After the federation reported a $4M deficit in 2022, a source told TSN that it had a $3M shortfall in 2023 and that it projects another deficit of $4M this year.Source: “The uncomfortable truth is, the better our players do on the pitch… https://t.co/uMFUMw5Ib2— Rick Westhead (@rwesthead) March 18, 2024
Not a fan. Also, apparently our deal with Nike (at Herdman’s insistence) is also pretty bad. Surprise, surprise.
CSB/CPL was going to get a deal done with Macron which would have made the CSA money but Herdman pushed for Nike in one of the worst kit deal in history - but CSB is evil according to TSN and Westhead...go figure
I've also liked austere national team kits. I've always found Canada's kit classy, simple, timeless. But I realize that times change. I feel bad for Canada's fans: they're going to have put up with the same crap with which we deal, it now seems.

Feels like it’s hard to win dual national battles with an interim coach and all the issues going on at the federation.
Shrug. Nothing much you can say when a guy explains that his heart is with another team. It's like Julian Araujo choosing Mexico. It is what it is.
His mind was already made up even when Herdman was there. He was left out of previous preliminary rosters for that reason. Also important to point out that he was playing Futsal and it was a CPL club that took a chance on him during a trial.
Sources 🚨! #CanPL clubs Pacific FC and Valour FC are in the market for new owners. Pacific FC won the title in 2021. The only team not named Forge FC to have won a Canadian Premier League title. Now they are for sell. pic.twitter.com/WetHisaEob— Manuel Veth (@ManuelVeth) April 1, 2024
“We remain very committed to the Island and the team is not for sale.”After a rumour about @Pacificfccpl being for sale sprang up last night, club officials and league sources say the speculation is unfounded.#ForTheIsle #CanPL https://t.co/INxIqRzrWU— Northern Tribune (@northtribune) April 1, 2024
How about selling the island? Cut down a few of those pesky old trees and it would be a great location for the next Trump National Golf Course.
