I recently went to the Metrostars office in Seacaucus to pick up some tickets for some friends. Anyway, while I was there, there were signs all over the office that said "MPF... it's coming." What does MPF stand for? Anyone have any insight into this? Thanks in advance.
I went to the office today to pick up some tickets and noticed the signs too. I asked the ticket guy what they meant. He said it was "MetroStars Playoffs Fight," "MetroStars Playoff F____" or something like that....I forgot because I was expecting something better. It's kinda corny.....
MetroStars Playoff Fight... yup...that should pack giants stadium....or wherever we have to play our games....
Anyone else notice the exciting MPF logo on the 'cast of the DC match Saturday? It almost made me leap off the couch and dial for tickets! "Hello? Yes, I'd like to be a part of Metro Playoff Fever! What's that? You can't tell me where or when home playoff matches are? Maybe Newark, maybe not? I'm in! Here's my credit card! Got any of those cool foam fingers left?" Dopey jackasses. How insulting. At what point do these people wise-up and say to themselves, "What am I doing with my life? I'm making up slogans to sell tickets to a game that may or may not take place in an unknown stadium! My team has played a whole season that leads up to playoffs, and we don't have a clue where the most important games of the year will be played! It's a possibility that the game that puts my team to the final might be played on a pitch with a big dirt spot where the pitchers mound was last week!" I'm sure that there are some very nice, well intentioned people in the ticket department, but jeez, do you really think that "MPF" is gonna fire anybody up? I'm not sure you need to be given props for taking on one of the most insanely tough jobs in the professional sports industry, or laughed at for being stupid enough to think that you can make a living selling tix for an organization that has, since it's inception, ************ed up every decent project it's had to tackle. I'm told that ticket prices will go up again next year, even though nobody's sure where Metro will play...This stuff kicks!
