that phrase and its delivery was timeless. Superdave reminding us once again that it is not about the content - it is about the gratuitous insult to his favorite target.
Nice irony, btousley. Carter made a remark about Reagan wanting to gut social security, and Reagan came back with his famous retort. Carter was, of course, right, and Reagan was, of course, disingenuous. Mondale absolutely busted Reagan with it 4 years later. That debate was such a smashing win for Mondale that (believe it or not) folks thought Mondale might win. So when you pull that line on me, you're basically saying I'm right. Ha.
What's interesting is that this thread is in the main about the fact that Bush is reading A book. ROFLMAOAOPABAPAGASM!
I think it's much more likely that Condi is actually the one reading the book and dumbing it down for George.
Is this ignorance willful? just do a search in this forum for fascism, mel brennan, dr. britt and that should give you enough examples. You really should be more aware of the company you keep on the left, dave.
I actually tried this, and it does nothing of the sort. You made the claim, you provide the link or else take back the claim.
Then I'll make another claim - either you can't type or you have a hard time with reading comprehension.
Why not actually do the search and attempt to win the argument on its merits? That would earn you a lot more respect than simply hurling baseless accusations.
Because posting Archer's claims and that of his adherents next to what Britt actually said would score Archer and his compatriot an Ignorance Trifecta; nothin' like being wrong factually, inappropriate, and disrespectful to the war dead and living, all on page one of one thread. They'll keep posting; we'll keep growing in our understanding of who these folks are; the obviousness of their afflictions makes its way to the fore and presents itself. It's actually a win-win, when you think about it.
Would be more of a win-win for you if I was really performing all the fellatio that I'm accused of by new friend Ted.
The actual subject of this thread - what George Bush is reading - is contradictory to what Dumbya himself said - that he doen't read anything and relies on his cabinet/aids to "fill him in". But if he is actually reading something, I'm guessing it's either "Curious George", "Hooked-On Phonics" (actually, that would be listening more than reading), or an extreme fundamentalist version of "Cliff's Notes" for the Bible. I had to oblige Karl Kellers' assertation that the "bashers" would say Bush is too stupid to read anything.
Does anyone else find comedy in the fact that this is a thread about Bush reading a book, and that the "proof" lies in the fact that Bill Kristol says he is?
I assume the irony was unintentional. But I refuse to use your youth and inexperience for personal gain.
Your sig rocks! But be careful, you might make Bill Archer go away for another 3 minutes, or worse, hold his breath until he turns blue. Bill - Sorry, but your assumption about liberal reactions was kinda out there, and invited this ridicule. Carry on.
