here; participate. A few nations: Poland - Kerry by 29% Costa Rica - Kerry by 81% El Salvador - Kerry by 45% Israel - Kerry by 15% Japan - Kerry by 77% Canada - Kerry by 79% UK - Kerry by 81% China - Kerry by 61% Mexico - Kerry by 83% Liechtenstein - Bush by 11% North Korea - dead heat
First off, the type of people who would vote on that site in the first place are the type of people who aren't likely to vote for Bush anyway (note that one of the entries is "Palestinian Territory, Occupied"; also note that among people who claim to be residents of the US, Kerry is winning 75%-24%, which not even the most die-hard Dem thinks will happen in a week). Second, the site allows anyone to claim they're from whatever country they want. 49 votes are registered from Pitcairn Island--according to the CIA World Factbook, the entire population of the island is "less than 50", and seeing as how there is only one telephone line on the island and possibly no internet access I doubt that every man, woman, and child on the island voted; what happened was that a bunch of people claimed to be from there, due to the recent worldwide media attention it's received because of several of its governmental leaders being brought up on pedophilia charges--also, about 300 votes are registered from Antarctica. For that matter, I don't believe that average citizens in North Korea are allowed internet access, altho I could be wrong. Also check out the results from Niger. In other words, Mel, that site's the stupidest fvcking thing I've ever seen, and if you posted that as anything other than a joke it's the stupidest thing that's been posted on the Politics board in a long time (which is saying quite a bit).
Gah, they can't even run a fake election site right. If the whole world could vote, we'd wind up with Nader at best, some further left nut job I've never heard of at worst. While Kerry may look appealing to the average third world dictator, he's far too conservative for Europeans.
No, he values in Bush "staying the course," so we should expect no less from him, that's true. Stay the course. Right off the cliff. At least you'll be known for your commitment and consistency.
Maybe the numbers are skewed because people outside the US cannot get onto the Bush website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3958665.stm
This idea is pointless. People voting on that are probably anti-Bush fans who look around for that. It's like going to Texas and asking, "Who's going to be President??" It's stupid. None of those people actually live here and probably don't know what position he is currently has and of what state. They probably don't even know much of plans either, other than the fact that he isn't Bush.
The Finns obviously take it very serious, they voted in record numbers. So the question we have to ask is... do we want a bunch of Lapland Reindeer herders picking our next President? Personally, I prefer that option to Mel's, where the illegal immigrants decide.
