Maybe he does not like him because Capello was dope when he coached Roma. I know this as a Juve fan because I have followed Capello's career for a long time since his Milan days. Yea he might be good for a league title but other than one CL win a long time ago he was a total failure in Europe with Madrid Roma and Juve and could never beat an EPL team when it mattered. The only thing he would have been good for is grinding out 1-0 victories.
I think Capello's record speaks for itself. Rome won nothing before him with Totti and won nothing after him with Totti. Capello took over a Juve team that Lippi couldn't win with and won 2 years in a row. He took over Real when they were in the toilet for 4 years in a row and won. Three brilliant moves by Capello come to mind. One bringing in Batistuta with a young inexperienced Rome. Two benching ADP and playing Ibra, now that took balls. Three benching Cassano.
If Capello were the Italian National team coach, do you know how many of our younsters he would screw over?
I don't know how a lot of you guys feel, but I think Vieri still has something in the tank. If he is used as a starter I think he is well capable of scoring 10 goals. I would like for him to end his career on a high note.
He will never play again. The direction is forwards, not backwards. I miss the Vieri of 1998 - 2002, who was much better on the NT than Toni could ever aspire to, but his time is done.
I agree with you, I don't want him back on the national team either. I'm just saying I hopes he ends his career with one more good year in Serie A before he calls it quits.
Well actually he started his season at Fiorentina quite well and eventually became a starter ahead of Pazzini. The 2nd half was less good, culminating in that UEFA cup performance. He's not the great champion he once was, but he can still be useful as a target man and make defenders feel uncomfortable.
