I am livid! Even though I have about two hundred channels in my cable package, I receive neither of these channels. I had never even heard of mun2 until I looked it up. I have the sports tier and I do not believe it should require the Spanish-language tier to watch a US national team WCQ game. Why is the game at 2pm on a Wednesday anyway? I realize US soccer fans are used to this... but it still feels like getting pissed on. I will see what I can do and I hope I can find a way to watch it.
They want as few people as possible to watch this historic first loss to the US at home is all I can think.
USA v. Mexico game will be in English on Telemundo via the SAP button. http://www.matchfitusa.com/2009/07/usa-mexico-english-sap-available-on.html
I'd just like to point out for DishNetwork folks if you shelled out for the package that includes FSC then you most likely get Mun2 as well. I don't have a special Spanish package, nor a sports package, but I get both.
What this means is that it may be possbile to see the game in HD with English commentary. Telemundo is available in HD (but I don't think MUN2 is), so using the SAP should get HD plus English. Telemundo HD is Channel 714 for Cablevision in New York. Of course, this assumes that the original broadcast from Azteca will be in HD, and not just 4:3 with bars on either side. George
For Spanish and Telemundo Channel 47 (If you use your SAP button you can get the game in English via Telemundo) For English and mun2 Channel 126
Well, it's now a moot point for me anyway, because I have a doctor's appointment at 4 pm ET, when the game starts!
Because it's an appointment I needed a referral for, and for all I know if I don't take it, I won't be able to get an appointment for months. My DVR is almost full, and I don't want to delete anything, and I don't trust my VCR anymore.
It wouldn't matter, because he would most likely come to BigSoccer before watching the recording and would shockingly have the results of the match spoiled.
Even if I DON'T end up on BigSoccer before I watch the game, I'll somehow end up with the results spoiled. Actually, it's Werder Bremen in the UEFA Cup and Germany during the Euros and World Cup qualifying, and Olympic swimming and Indiana Jones movies in HD, but thanks for playing. Plus the Tony Awards, which I saved for a friend. I don't remember when I last even WATCHED Grey's Anatomy.
In that case, those are all obviously better choices than recording the first American victory in Mexico City since 1847.
Well, I was just saying that I'm pissed off that I can no longer watch the entire thing live. I will most likely record it and hopefully find a place to watch the second half live.
Doesn't ESPN have the rights to televise USMNT WCQ matches? If so why aren't they broadcasting this? This is like GOLTV buying the rights to the Spainsh League and showing pretty much every game except Real- barca.
