Oh, I know that, but it still doesn't look right to me. Just my opinion. Since the '60s the soccer ball that's been traditionally used is the 32 panel one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_ball#Construction

I mean, you could have used the one from the 2006 WC that looks like it was put together with maxi-pads and it would have been a soccer ball in the crest. It doesn't mean it's a good design or pleasing on the eye.

But, like I said, it's just my opinion. Also, you ask your average Joe in the US what kind of ball that pattern belongs to and I guarantee you that the majority will say volleyball. That may not be the best in terms of marketing, then again, you're also using Football Club as part of the name, too.

I'm pretty sure Mitre balls are still made old-school 12 or 18 panel. I'm not sure which.

They sure do. They have several of them. I think the official SPL ball is a 16 panel, too. Back in the late 90's Umbro made a "old school" 16-panel ball. Best ball I ever had. Loved it. I had it for 3-4 years but somehow lost it moving in college :(. I might have to get a Mitre one now.

I had a Mitre Multiplex 18 panel when I was a teenager (got it for Christmas (along with a pair of goalie gloves that had the ping-pong paddle stuff on the palms and knuckles), when I was 15; 30 years ago ). I played with it until the bladder wouldn't hold air anymore. They may still make an 18 panel, but I haven't seen a 12 panel ever. Doesn't mean nobody makes one; I just haven't seen it. It'd be nice if somebody did; I'd buy one (I need a new soccer ball anyway).

May be good for dwarfs. Not quite what you're looking for, same here: http://www.rhombus-sports.com/giveaway-ball.htm

But this, however, is awesome: http://sportingcompany.com/soccer/soccer_pos4.shtml

I was talking about the one that looks like a volleyball, but has two fat panels on each side instead of three. i seem to recall a company called Sporttime or something made a 12-panel ball like what I'm talking about; not strictly for soccer, just an all-around play ball.
