https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/m...st-group-to-ban-milo-yiannopoulous/ar-AAHonyh Not all furries reject Yiannopoulos. A group called Furry Raiders, whose blog complains of bullying by "social justice warriors" and people getting called a Nazi because they are "not a sheep." (Splinter News pointed out some of the group's costumes and designs contain apparent Nazi symbolism.) I just want to point out that I learned more about this FurFest than I wanted to know.
I would say that there is something is "fishy" with this decision and that it is likely that he was banned for "ruffling the feathers" of the organizers, but both would be mixing metaphors. More likely, they are all deeply, deeply disturbed individuals, but even they thought, "f*ck, man, that Milo guy is way out there!"
I knew about it because my wife and I were in a Pittsburgh hotel once that was hosting a conference. I kept looking for hidden cameras because I thought the whole thing was set up to ******** with me.
The story about the "chemical weapon attack" 5 years ago is way, way stranger. In particular, there is a pretty funny typo in today's story, referencing the issue 5 years ago: Police investigated the release of a high level of chlorine into the hospital as an "intentional act." "into the hospital"?!? Yes, many of the "furries" probably need psychiatric assistance, but they were in a "hotel" not a "hospital." Here is the full story from back then: https://patch.com/illinois/elmhurst/someone-tried-gas-furries-chlorine-midwest-furfest-convention-0
https://www.herefordtimes.com/news/regional/17913514.woman-ran-city-half-marathon-wrong-worcester/ Woman ran city half marathon in the wrong Worcester Sheila Pereira, 42, booked a place on last Sunday’s Air Products Worcester City Half Marathon only to realise that the event was taking place in Worcester, England and not her home city of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Undeterred, Sheila ran the half marathon distance near her home and sent details to the organisers of the UK event. In response, they have sent her a race finisher’s pack.
I had a similar thing happen to me, I signed up to do a marathon once.... turned out it was actually some sort of a run, but what I wound up doing instead was a Netflix marathon....
More marathoning news of sad variety INDEPENDENCE, KS (KP) -- A runner died after being struck by lightning as he was about to finish a 50 kilometer race in southeast Kansas. https://www.kctv5.com/news/local_ne...cle_1a41653d-2437-51d1-94e4-6bdfb3074451.html
Running in Kansas? There are risks. 1. Cholesterol 2. Lightning 3. Boredom 4. Running while black (maybe that one is a bit more risky there)
It’s so Florida... Investigators say they’ve identified a 62-year-old Florida woman as the person who died when a portable toilet exploded and burned to the ground with her inside. https://t.co/Fkt7H2Gz2u— WSVN 7 News (@wsvn) October 3, 2019
Didn't this happen in the parking lot next to M&T Bank in Baltimore last year? This happens at least once a year somewhere.
It was actually in February that a man died in Baltimore after running out of one of those that was on fire. I can't find anything about the cause.
