Just heard another name drop of the POR/BOS match this sunday while watching the PHI/NYRB game.

    They definitely got the memo.

Tonight's another good opportunity to see Christen Press! I am so excited!
BTW, is Morgan playing? I heard she's a bit injured...

From everything I've read she will be playing. I doubt she will miss this one.

Oh ok sounds good! It should be another good game! I'm glad that Morgan is fully healthy in that case but hopefully CRS coach won't wait till halfway through the 2nd half again to put Press at center forward!

Isn't if sad that the Referee's need to be mentioned? IMHO this is the most critical area of the Women's game that needs to be fixed! Tooo inconsistent and tooo involved in the outcome!

I don't know Tokonta, I thought that the same could be said of many refs at the men's World Cup... and they are supposedly "best in the world". That said, I am sure that the refs could "grow their game" just like the players. Some of the college matches I watch the refs are not at all up to the speed of play, can only imagine how difficult it becomes in a professional league.

Sadly the same situation in men's game. Instant replay or centralized video review process can prevent 90% referee's mistakes. Unfortunately, I don't see FIFA implement those technologies in near future. Controversy is good for business.

For my own selfish reasons I dont mind Morgan starting on the bench and McDonald deserves the occasional start...Long is hard to fathom tho.

Allie Long and Alex Morgan start on the bench. Replaced in starting lineup by Sinead Farrelly and Jess McDonald.

I thought last night these moves make sense; I just didn't think Riley would do it today because the game is almost like a "final" in Vero's words, but maybe he felt forced to by the short turnaround.

Long is now their best late-game midfield scoring threat in the event Vero tires, as impossible as that seems to be. Morgan is not at the moment a true 90-minute player (because of her return from long injury). But she is, of course, still the one whose speed could take advantage of a tiring defense.

I thought Riley might rotate in Huffman in place of Moros, thus having your best crossers on the left and right back position. Moros is also their best replacement for Brooks if she fades but a) maybe Riley's decided Brooks is built like a horse and can keep going and going for this match (which is probably true), or b) he felt if he needed to make a switch there, he'll shuffle midgame, bringing in Huffman to RB and shifting Brooks to DM.

add- huh, Marshall at RB. That surprises me. Guess a rotation thing due to the short turnaround, but I would have thought Huffman if Riley didn't repeat having Moros there from the last game.

... unless he's putting Menges out on the right. He wouldn't do that would he? That did not work out well the last time he tried it.

Coming off that dominating win, Portland has an advantage regardless of line-up. Eager to see how this one plays out.

Is the Star Spangled Banner copywrited or something? Weird how we see/but never hear on most of the feeds.

Am I right that Rory Dames is making 6 changes from the lineup that beat Seattle on Saturday?!

Saturday's lineup: LeBlanc, Erceg, Mowray, Sitch, Wenino, Bywaters, Chalupny, Johnston, Leon, Press, Tancredi

I guess he thinks fresh legs will make the difference in this match. I wonder how many cardworthy fouls Boxx will get away with in the first 20 minutes though? Forgot, decent ref tonight, he might not let Boxx get the rust out of her system scot-free.

Who ever that Chicago player was but they should have gone down that and they would have gotten the penalty

That play distribution by LeBlanc is why she will never be the numero uno for Canada. Absolutely laughable

She's been awful. So many chances given to Portland because of LeBlanc.
