The way the entire team ran off the field and into the locker room in less than 30 seconds after the whitsle, I'd say they at least have a head start on getting to the airport.

Eh. Once again the Swiss BARELY make it through based on "away goals". And they made it to playoffs based on "goal difference".

Still haven't demosntrated that they deserve it, but I guess they can do that in the World Cup while we can't :(

Fantastic! This should really help carry the momentum for Swiss soccer all the way through 2008.

From a neutral perspective i think they definetely deserved it. I know Israel was mad at 'em because of their hostility in the Switzerland - Israel match but come on, Turkey did the same thing but much bigger to the Swiss here in Istanbul and they still made it!

What is you, ign'ant? Of course they deserved it. Look at who they had to go through to get here.

Congratulations Switzerland. It was an exciting match... too bad I had to follow it on Matchcast

    Wow...just...wow. I aged years tonight.

It has to be said. We played very nervous and had luck on our side at times. Congrats to Turkey on a strong performance.

    But it all doesn't matter...

    DEUTSCHLAND WIR KOMMEN!!!!!!!
How many more boards and threads are you going to "bless" with your tired whining about Israel?

    Newsflash: nobody cares

I think almost everyone is happy for Switzerland. I lived in Geneva 7 years and Lugano 5 years so i do have a really soft spot in my heart for Switzerland. Since my own country isn't qualified, the Swiss will definetely be right up there with my favourites at the tournament.

Congradulations Switzerland and thanks Turkey for what was, from a neutral's perspective, an absolutely excellent game to watch. After falling asleep at the end of the first half of the Bahrain-TnT match, this game was a real thrill-a-minute nailbiter.

Both teams are very talented and deserve to go through but nevertheless, welcome back to the world cup Switzerland.

    look at the mirror ;)
you have a weak team, we could score 5-6 against you in Istanbul at friendly match.
why do turks scare u this match? you know Turkey would be supported more than you in your own home. The red flasg would be more than yours...
Switzerland was just lucky, it is " away " goals.
at the first match, there was a very clear penalty but sold referee(i dont know how much he has taken from Sepp Blater) didnt see!
and today, the match started as a nightmare for us! Switzerland didnt deserve that penalty anf goal! after this we had to play more fast and bravely but this made us tired at nearly finishing of the game. There was a penalty position at the first half but the referee didnt see it again!
Switzerland just score 7 in their group but today we scored 4! and deserved to score more!

Congratulations Switzerland, I'm really happy for you!!!
You simply had to qualify for Germany 2006, and it was well deserved.

The Turks are incredibly bad losers. The audience threw all sorts of things onto the pitch, swiss players and journalists were beaten and kicked by turkish security and even players. One swiss player was severly injured, others came away with a black eye. The team didn't dare to leave the cabin.

That also proves that the right team got through. Congrats again!

is it true that a swiss player was severly injured by the public? then that's a big scandal. Turks need to learn how to behave.
