I'd say overall Mexico has had an easier Hex this time around. Everybody has fvcked up against us for the most part in this Hex, whereas they mostly didn't in the 2013 Hex. Put Osorio in 2013, I think we would have a guaranteed finish of 5th/6th.
Would he have? And who has "fked up" against us? Panama tied us on the road and rightfully lost to us at home. Honduras lost badly to us at home, the USA lost straight up in Columbus and it was one of Osorios' best-managed matches. We beat TT which should happen, and the Costa Rica match at home was a lopsided win, there really was no messing up, they just weren't as good. I dislike how he manages cups, but I don't see him calling up Zavala, Salcido, Torrado, Meza or even Gerry Flores who were underperforming horribly, especially in a 4-4-2 for so long. Chepo got stuck in something that didn't work and stubbornly didn't change it.
It was a tougher hex but it wasn't "get saved by the US and go to the New Zealand playoff" tougher. This Costa Rica team is as good as any team in that last hex and Mexico got 4 out of 6 points against them.
Nah. If anything,Osorio has shown that he knows how to get points in this region. Sure I guess the region is "weaker," whatever that even means, but MEX has struggled against CONCACAF opposition for years and years regardless of how "good" MEX players were compared to the other countries.
We had Cubo Torres, Martin Barragan and Angel Sepulveda as forwards in the Gold Cup so I would chill on thinking we have improved so much and have so much more depth than those times.
I don't understand why Govea isn't getting a call up. It's bullshit. Same thing happened to Tecatito a year before the WC he was killing it in Twente but never got a call up until the next cycle, after that he took a starting position. Same shit is gonna happen to Govea, save this post by 2019 he'll be a starter and we'll all be asking ourselves why he wasn't in the 2018WC. This whole hierarchy mentality has held this team down for too long.

At the same time, do you wanna call them up and risk injury from some troncazo getting mad at them? Its Honduras away. T&T isn't as dirty but they're still CONCACAF so they're bound to be dirty. Probably a dumb point but Honduras are still playing for qualification and they'll play rough.
Saw the conmebol qualifiers today, we are so f'ing lucky we don't have to qualify in that region. We would not make World Cup very often. Intensity was insane.
Mil veces llamaba al Tecatito aún a esa edad en lugar de Brizuela, que creo ni terminó jugando un minuto, mínimo le servía de experiencia a Corona. Osorio no tiene tan bien ojo, tiene algunos aciertos en sus convocatorias pero también muchos errores, increíble que siga insistiendo con Ayala.

How does a guy like Gio who has been doing terrible with his team start ahead of someone like Chucky que la esta rompiendo en Holanda?
Honestly prefer Chuky be protected against dirty CONCACAF players. Let him start in our last two friendlies of the year against Poland and Belgium. Those guys won't play as dirty as any of the nations of CONCACAF.
