I think you might have the same source that I do! Hearing the same. Also heard announcement might be this week if the remaining details can be ironed out.
Brrrrrrrr. Columbus (1/27) and St. Paul (2/2) it is. Oy. https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...ul-to-host-critical-home-world-cup-qualifiers
For those living on the coasts/south I can understand the disappointment, but for me getting to 3 home qualifiers a short drive away in a cycle is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Sure do miss the party in the state fairgrounds parking at Mapfre though.
Columbus and St. Paul seem like odd choices because of the strong possibility of inclement weather that might neutralize the US team's superior quality. I understand the travel concerns. Still, the US should be able to beat El Salvador and Honduras at any home location in the Eastern or Central time zones. Just avoid DC for El Salvador and Houston/Miami for Honduras. On to the lotteries, um, weighted random draws.
very disappointed with this location. Columbus is nice and all, dont get me wrong. i just think Columbus having 2 of the 7 and Ohio having 3 of the 7 is a bit much. and, as mentioned above this strategy of bad weather against teams we should be beating seems silly and neutralizes our advantage
The venue choices sure don't exude confidence in the team. Just a bit of a stretch to say they hint at desperation. Berhalter might outsmart himself into 4th place and a one game playoff for the World Cup. Mexico, Canada, Panama and Costa Rica must be happy with this strange US maneuver. On the bright side, I imagine flight and hotel rates are lower to Columbus and the Twin Cities in the dead of winter, midweek at that.
Draw is open now until Dec 8th. Same priority rules. Ticket prices from $70-400. And there's 4 sections under $100. That's more than fair.
I applied for one ticket from Group B. As usual, I went for the cheapest one so I am almost positive I'll be in the upper endline rather that the Nordecke for this game. I excluded everything except the lowest four price levels.
AO Night Before: January 26, 2022 Land-Grant Brewing Company 424 W. Town Street Columbus, Ohio 43215 6pm EST
The draw continues until Dec. 16, 2021. We then get email notification on the ticket draw (also the Feb. 2, 2022 ticket draw) by Dec. 20, 2021! The countdown continues! Here is what was put in the instructions for both the Jan. 27, 2022 and Feb. 2, 2022 ticket draws:
Bingo!!! My account manager shows a ticket for my first choice location with an invoice payment date of 12/17. No credit card charge nor confirmation email yet. It looks like game time is 7 PM.
Woohoo! Got my first choice which was the 1st Row Player's box next to the El Salvador team bench! Best of luck to all.
I saw the tweet from Goff that says 6:30 PM. However, the Ticketmaster Event Page says 7 PM. Tickets must remain after the lottery.
