Arshavin was very poor, yet again Zyryanov was the main playmaking threat.

cska - man u deja vu all over

poor Akinfeev. how i feel for him to have to play with these losers.

now 1 goal from the standards or a PK by Slovenia and in the away game and then all 11 men in the box for the entire game and we're going on vacation

********ing piss poor attitude towards the end.

good game. if you win, you'll deserve to go to the WC

Russia is so far ahead of Slovenia in class, but your attitude is why you are currently here, in the late stages.

First 60 mins or so we were really playing nice, the passing was there and so were the chnaces. After about 70 mins we became stale as always.

Anyone else appreciate how good Zyryanov's vision is ? The guy just sees everything, joy to watch.

It's crazy how bipolar our NT is. For much of the match we're playing fluid, beautiful passing football...then out of the blue we revert back to ball watching and Slovenia scores.

This late goal from Slovenia could become very painful for you guys in the end ... however, since your team is strong in counter-attacking, it's always able to score abroad.

That's surely gonna be a tough fight in Maribor on Wednesday (take care of Novakovic).

like i said, i'm just worried about the piss poor tactics such as "11 men in the box until 82nd minute" and then put on 4 strikers and push for the goal, which with home crowd's support is much likely to happen.

it's unfortunate that football like that actually wins (see greece 2004)

How do you expect them to play ? It's hard to attack against a superior side.

they play like that every game.

    it's how they got here.

i understand being a rubin kazan, playing open and creative and then shutting down against sides like barcelona but slovenia's football is anything but entertaining. much like greece's.

shame that doesn't happen here, computer engineers don't really watch sports, or do much of anything besides count their money. oh wait they send "humorous" emails. in fact the only time they get outside for longer than it takes to walk from a parking lot to the entrance is once a year for an art&wine festival or something.

Be careful of who you insult. Namely some of the smartest people in the world with quite diverse interests. Some of them being sports (I point towards baseball as the primary example, but other sports as well). Also, counting money is a wonderful hobby, don't knock it ;)

Beach Football World Cup is coming up, we're supposed to be among the 4 favorites along with Brazil, Spain, and Portugal. Brazil being the clear favorites obviously.

Don't know what to think about this result. Congrats on an important win, but 1-0 and 2-0 were way better than the game ended, 2-1....almost did that FSU black plague Dynamo Kyiv thing by conceding twice at the end and f'n everything up.....

Pavlyuchenko was a huge surprise. Played pretty well and was responsible for setting up both goals. Sick stuff from Bilya, first goal was super nasty, chopped and split the two defenders and then crazy good finish with his off foot, looked like a golf shot :) Zhirkov another huge surprise

Defnitely leaves us with an edgy and tense incounter in Slovenia, they better be ready!!!

Zhirkov was good but he needs to play like that against the big sides as well.

Why? All they need is a tie and I think 1 goal will wrap it up. Worst case you will go to ET, I can't see you losing 1-0.

If you had a Russian coach there would've been a good chance that you would have choked, but Hiddink will have you guys mentally strong and confident.
