Even if Bridge wasnt quite as good of a player(I used to think that) I would still choose him, but after this season, there is no reason why the LB spot isnt Bridge's to lose.

Bridge by a country mile, for one you just have to look at how he features in the assist department in the Chelsea TV goal of the season competition.

To my mind Galas for Cole was one of Kenyons worst business deals and that takes some doing when you consider the cock up he has made since being here. But he is he is still trying to cap it with the Lamps, Terry, Robben contract talks.

Still now that Cole is here I think it is a bit rich to refer to him as a gooner ****** (insert insult of choice) he is now a Blue and deserves our support.

Oh by the way did I say I disliked that **** Kenyon?

Cole is a better defender and had an injury filled season where he nevertheless played pretty well. Either of them would make me happy.
I think people are being too fast to slag Cole off. Remember, Essien wasn't exactly a house afire his first season in England.

This coming season will be a make it or break it year for many players as well as Jose.

Bridge. He's done everything that we bought Cole to do, who hasn't been able to do it at all. We'll pull him out whenever we need to pin down C.Ronaldo, that's about it.

Ashley Cole is very good, but Wayne Bridge is just a better all round player.

Is Cole was at his Arsenal form, I'd pick Ashley. But right now, Bridge is just a better all around player.

I like Ashley Cole at the back, and we are ever in dire need of a left winger....then why the hell doesnt Jose just insert Bridge into that role??? He would be great IMO.

I am glad to know that Cole feels that he is under the gun, I believe he will respond to the challenge.

Personally, I prefer Bridge and would like to see more of him.

i have some interesting facts about the two players

Player Starts (Subs) Gls (Conc) Asst Yellow Red
    Ashley Cole 21 (2) 0 2 4 0
    Wayne Bridge 17 (5) 0 4 1 0

i think this is all that need to be said over the issue of who has been the better player and is the better player also dont forget brdges performances against Wycombe in the Carling cup he was the only experienced player on the pitch for the first leg and he took it to them and scored when has ashley cole done that.
