Sigh… Ake was taken off prematurely just now, only lasted 22 minutes in the match. Seems like muscular problems. Fingers crossed nothing serious, just cautionary measures...
The amount of injuries is outrageous, and it’s all because there are far too many matches, and not enough rest. We can thank greed from all the various Leagues and hierarchy of the sport UEFA and FIFA for all of this. The players are very well paid, but the wear and tear on their bodies will take it’s toll. It will lessen the quality of the game at some point if it’s not already
I hope Van De Ven given playing times the next 2 matches. He deserves this. We all know what Ake, De Ligt, Van Dijk, De Vrij, Blind, Geertruida can do at NT.
Well, here we go. First trouble that Slot must deal with… his own countryman Sepp v.d Berg is forcing his way out from Liverpool. Can’t blame him TBH, he’s “already” 22 and really needs regular playing times just like when he was on loan in Germany. Remain to be seen if Slot can give him that assurance.
Looks like Koeman made the right decision to leave Maatsen off the squad. Nightmare of a mtach tonight.
As I said he’s inexperienced and vulnerable defensively. Got beat a few times and I think both goals his fault. That said I’m tired of Blind or possibly seeing Geertruida out there switch off or lose his position which he has a propensity to do for Oranje.
105575 Well, despite his error in the final Maatsen earned a spot in the CL Team of the Season. Si I guess his performance wasnot that bad at all as some in here suggest by backing Koeman.
I hope Dortmund will purchase Maatsen outright (I don’t know if they’ll have funds). If not, Maatsen will be back to his parent club Chelsea that just hired a new manager and presumably are well into a rebuilding mode. Not exactly the kind of place where he wants to be…
Our leftback for (hopefully) the next 10 years Solid, Micky van de Ven. 🌟#NothingLikeOranje #CreateHistory pic.twitter.com/fUZaHPmEK4— OnsOranje (@OnsOranje) June 8, 2024
Reportedly Maatsen is heading back to EPL to join Aston Villa. Dortmund are not willing to fork the money to make his loan permanent. I guess it is a solid move for Maatsen … better than moving to parent club Chelsea. Villa will be in the UCL next year, and has a very good manager (Emery).

The Athletic reports that Van den Berg has made a fine impression on Slot since his return to Liverpool. The defender was successfully loaned out to Mainz last season, but now seems to be allowed to go for his chance under Arne Slot. Incidentally, for what it's worth in the preparation during a major European final round. However, the newspaper knows more because Van den Berg would even have been able to record the best numbers and statistics after the first week of training at Melwood, Liverpool's training center. PSV sees in the young Van den Berg exactly the player it would like to attract. André Ramalho is no longer really seen as a serious option for the new season within the club, although the offer for the Brazilian still stands.
108481 Beautiful images: Tyrell Malacia back on training Manchester United after 14 months of injury Tyrell Malacia has shown himself again at Manchester United's training complex. The left back was absent for about fourteen months due to a serious injury. For the time being, the Dutchman is still following an individual program.
He is one of those who picked the wrong team to go to. Would have done much better in Spain or Germany.
De Ligt… It’s been a quiet few days lately on the transfer front. Man Utd signed a young highly-rated French CB (Yoro), which make you wonder if De Ligt reuniting with Ten Haag will still be happening this Summer. Bayern Munich do not seem to be in the rush selling, even though they have a very crowded CB’s population. De Ligt staying and being coached by the new manager Kompany (who happened to be an excellent CB himself!) may not be a bad thing after all
