He moved to J-League in 2004 after winning the 2004 Brazilian league top scorer with 34 goals. He scored 90 goals in 114 games for Verdy and Urawa. Easily one of the best strikers in the history of the J-League. Best of luck to his new challenge at Fluminense He will become the top scorer of the Brazilian league again.
i'd like to thank the big cheat for 3 things. 1. getting tokyo verdy relegated 2. bottling it this season 3. pissing off back to brazil
Washington was as sailorboy said a big cheat and a crybaby, but no-one can aruge that he's one of the best, if not the best, strikers that have played in J.League. His goalscoring record shows how good he was, and Im sure he'll manage some 20+ goals in Brazil as well. He probably have one or 2 seasons left. Best of luck
Yokohama Marinos beat that arse at home and then that "face-loser" losing the title this year to FC once again at Nissan. No love loss.
Skeletal remains found in Obihiro identified as 29-year-old woman Monday, May 21, 2007 at 12:20 EDT OBIHIRO — The female skeletal remains that were found in the woods in Obihiro, Hokkaido, last month have been identified as a missing 29-year-old woman, police said Monday. Police said they identified the dead body as Aya Kaneko, a company employee from Obihiro, through dental records and blood type. Her family reported her missing to police when she did not show up for work in last November. Traces of internal bleeding were found in her brain, leading police to believe she was murdered. Police are currently questioning her ex-husband and other acquaintances. Hokkaido police have also informed the press that they have released from custody Urawa Reds striker Washington after he collapsed holding his face during questioning. A source, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Japan Times, "Washington told investigators 'I never touched her, ref, honest' before he collapsed on the ground holding his face and claiming a detective had elbowed him. Then, when he was leaving the interview room he brushed against the table, threw himself to the ground and demanded to know why the table had not even received a yellow card. It was all most bizarre." Washington has a history of performing theatrical dives and cheating like mad during J-League games which has led to some spectators to remark 'he gets away with murder' meaning the refs often don't punish him for his breaking of the rules. http://www.japantoday.com/jp/news/407186 PS this is all true. well, apart from the bit about being questioned for murder which is just a joke, so don't sue me.
Washington played very well for Urawa in the Club World Cup but I was wondering why doesn't he go to a high paying club in Europe if he's so good?
because he's 32 years old. too old to start messing around with top European clubs, so if it's a choice between relative anonymity in a lower-tier league like Sweden or Russia vs going back to Brazil, he might as well go home and be a bit of a hero.
