    I'd offer to you that it's actually less pleasing.

    A single table with a balanced schedule would be if the main title was determined without playoffs. That will thankfully never be the case here. With playoffs being a pillar of MLS, a balanced schedule isn't necessary by any standard. I'd offer further that I would rather see my team play more games within the division as those tend to be rivalry type games having more history and heartbreak. As a KC fan, beating LA always has more sweetness to it than say smoking Metros. Taking a 4 game series form a West rival is always going to be better than taking a 2 or 3 game series from an East club. I'm sure I'm not alone in this view.

    As playoffs are split to enhance the possibility for "local" rivalry, it makes even more sense to increase play within a division when possible.
