Just got email from Coach Theresa Ecthermeyer of the Denver lady Cougars, they beat Seattle 2 - 1 in OT tonight to advance to Vancouver. Joining Denver are Bostin, Vancouver and Charlotte. Will post the final Friday/Saturday schedule as soon as we receive it. Heard that the final will be broadcast on FSW on Sunday, tape delayed from Saturday's match. Congratulations to all teams.
Boston beat Long Island 4-2 Sunday, after the Lady Riders had to play their game against the NY Magic the day before because of lightning on Friday night cancelled the original kick-off. www.ladyriders.com
I don't know how they are matching up the teams, but I would put a lot of money down that Vancouver playes Charlotte and Denver plays Boston. B/c Denver and Vancouver are in the same division they won't play each other and there is no way the organizers want to have Vancouver and Boston matched up in the semi-final.
I will find out and post it here. Well duh I will try to find out, most of the USL information seems to be hidden from us mortals.

Article from Boston Renegades website, 4-2 win over Long Island Lady Riders: http://www.bostonrenegades.com/press-box/headline-news/headline-news.htm Since someone's already posted the Lady Riders link, I will abstain. Was hoping for HR win against Charlotte, but the two finalists from last year are in it. While I'm posting links, I'll post the one from the article I wrote about last year's final between Boston and Vancouver: http://onthesidelines.blogspot.com/2001_08_01_onthesidelines_archive.html#5173710 And my photos from the 2001 W-League championship game (on each of the picture pages you'll have to scroll down a little to see the pics): http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.106606/article/608/13/?s=A http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.106606/article/608/14/?s=r http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.106606/article/608/15/?s=u Enjoy.
Wow - jackpot. Thanks for all the info. Seems like everyone but Memphis does press releases and such.

While I'm posting links, I'll post the one from the article I wrote about last year's final between Boston and Vancouver: http://onthesidelines.blogspot.com/...ve.html#5173710 wow - you really wrote a novel. That is outstanding. They are playing this years final on FSW aren't they, delayed by one day?
delayed w-league final You're right. It is a delayed final on FSW. It comes on Sunday 8/11 at 5:00 p.m. EST (2:00 PST) and again at 2:00 a.m. EST (8/12) and 11:00 p.m. PST. I just checked the FSW schedule on their website. But it is good that it'll be broadcast, as last year's certainly wasn't. And we can hope the weather will be better for this final so more people will be able to see it live. It was a shame to see a W-League final with no more than 30 people left in the stands after the storms in Hampton Roads. Thanks for the compliment about the article. Glad you read and liked the novel.
The Virginian Pilot also does a terrible job in covering the Hampton Roads Piranhas. They do cover the team in their print edition but hardly ever post any articles to the web-site. I've tried to post links for the Piranhas a couple of times, but couldn't come up with anything. Thanks to onthesidelines for all the links, and for the story about last year's final.
Thanks for the compliments. I did see a Piranhas article prior to them leaving for KC, I seem to recall, but you're right, they do a poor job on coverage. The home newspapers up closer to me give scant coverage to the Northern Virginia Majestics as well, though there was one of the Majestics/Piranhas game. I'm trying to put together a W-League final four preview, just to let everyone know. I'm able to find enough information for 3 of the 4 teams, but am having trouble finding news on the Denver Lady Cougars thus far, so if anyone has any they can pass along to me, I'll incorporate it into my preview. I'll keep plugging away though. I'm going to try and make contact with the teams (in between working) and see if I can get some info. that way as well. From what I've gathered so far, the only teams in the final four to play each other this year are Denver and Vancouver, with Vancouver winning both by 2-1 scores.
I have been having a dialogue with the Denver Coach. I will write her an email. Can I give her your email address? I believe you wrote to the pdlsoccer site last night with a link, didn't you? You should be the one doing these websites, you would be perfect.
I did send something to the PDL site as I had found articles about Boulder. I don't mind if you give her my email address. I'd love to help out in whatever way I can. Just let me know...
fanmaster, Thanks for putting me in touch with Denver's coach. I now have good information on Denver, which will be a big help to putting together a preview for this weekend's W-League final four in Vancouver. I hope to have it finished sometime tomorrow and will post a link to it as soon as it's finished.
