Games for this weekend. http://www.uslsoccer.com/schedules/2008/8630105.html Friday (today) Charlotte Lady Eagles at Atlanta Silverbacks Big game, probably the 2 best teams in the conference. Michigan Hawks at Minnesota Lightning Another good early season game. Last year they finished one and two (with the Lightning first). Vancouver Whitecaps at Fort Collins Force Saturday Vermont Lady Voltage at London Gryphons Fredericksburg Lady Gunners at New Jersey Wildcats Should be a good game. Northern Virginia Majestics at Long Island Rough Riders New York Magic at Connecticut Passion Carolina Dynamo at Hampton Roads Piranhas Boston Renegades at Jersey Sky Blue Should be a good game. Carolina RailHawks at West Virginia Illusion Richmond Kickers Destiny at Tampa Bay Hellenic Ventura County Fusion at Pali Blues
Don't forget about Sunday's games: Vermont Lady Voltage at Toronto Lady Lynx Fort Collins Force at Real Colorado Cougars Fredericksburg Lady Gunners at Long Island Rough Riders Laval Comets at Western Mass Lady Pioneers FC Indiana Lionesses at Chicago Gaels Northern Virginia Majestics at New Jersey Wildcats Richmond Kickers Destiny at Bradenton Athletics Boston Renegades at Washington Freedom West Michigan Firewomen at Minnesota Lightning Rochester Rhinos at Hamilton Avalanche The Freedom match is their home opener. I don't envy the Renegades having to play Jersey today and Washington tomorrow.
Looks as if the Northeast Division is going to be tough this year - we're only a few weeks in, and nobody's won all their games. The New Jersey Wildcats have come the closest, with two wins and a tie.
Here are all of the scores from Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday Charlotte Lady Eagles 2:3 Atlanta Silverbacks pk late in game for Atlanta Michigan Hawks 2:3 Minnesota Lightning Vancouver Whitecaps 1:0 Fort Collins Force Saturday Vermont Lady Voltage 0:1 London Gryphons Fredericksburg Lady Gunners 1:3 New Jersey Wildcats Northern Virginia Majestics 1:1 Long Island Rough Riders New York Magic 1:1 Connecticut Passion Carolina Dynamo 1:4 Hampton Roads Piranhas Boston Renegades 2:0 Jersey Sky Blue Seems like a big win for Boston. Richmond Kickers Destiny 0:1 Tampa Bay Hellenic Ventura County Fusion 1:3 Pali Blues Sunday Vermont Lady Voltage 0:3 Toronto Lady Lynx Fort Collins Force 1:2 Real Colorado Cougars Fredericksburg Lady Gunners 1:2 Long Island Rough Riders Laval Comets 5:1 Western Mass Lady Pioneers FC Indiana Lionesses 3:0 Chicago Gaels Northern Virginia Majestics 2:2 New Jersey Wildcats Richmond Kickers Destiny 3:4 Bradenton Athletics Boston Renegades 1:0 Washington Freedom Another big win for Boston. West Michigan Firewomen 0:2 Minnesota Lightning Rochester Rhinos 0:2 Hamilton Avalanche
There were only two players for Boston on Sunday that were the same as the last time I watched them play the Freedom, and one of them was a substitute. There seems to have been a lot of recruiting in the off-season.

Here is the weekend schedule. http://www.uslsoccer.com/schedules/2008/8630105.html Friday June 6th Tampa Bay Hellenic at Charlotte Lady Eagles This first year team in Tampa is having a good start. FC Indiana Lionesses at Cleveland Internationals On paper this should be a good game. Cleveland has some good players on their roster, but last season they seemed to under preform. Chicago Gaels at Michigan Hawks Bradenton Athletics at Carolina RailHawks Pali Blues at Fort Collins Force Saturday June 7th Boston Renegades at Fredericksburg Lady Gunners Vermont Lady Voltage at Rochester Rhinos Connecticut Passion at Northern Virginia Majestics Western Mass Lady Pioneers at Ottawa Fury I think this is Ottawa's first game. Bradenton Athletics at Charlotte Lady Eagles Seattle Sounders at Vancouver Whitecaps Usually a good game. A strange game, anyway. Whitecaps will be missing the Canadian U20s, who are at training camp. They've signed Christine Sinclair to a one-game contract. Besides Sinclair it'll be a smattering of non-Canadians, overage players and basically their reserve team. Seattle has their usual core of veterans. They've long had trouble scoring though and it's worse this year with the absence of that waterbug Lyndsey Patterson.
Here's the results from this last weekend. Sorry for the delay. Friday June 6 Tampa Bay Hellenic 2:4 Charlotte Lady Eagles FC Indiana Lionesses 5:0 Cleveland Internationals Chicago Gaels 3:1 Michigan Hawks Bradenton Athletics 0:4 Carolina RailHawks Pali Blues 2:1 Fort Collins Force Saturday June 7 Boston Renegades 6:0 Fredericksburg Lady Gunners Vermont Lady Voltage 1:2 Rochester Rhinos Connecticut Passion 3:2 Northern Virginia Majestics Western Mass Lady Pioneers 0:1 Ottawa Fury Bradenton Athletics 0:5 Charlotte Lady Eagles Seattle Sounders 1:3 Vancouver Whitecaps New York Magic 0:0 Jersey Sky Blue Carolina Dynamo 3:0 West Virginia Illusion Tampa Bay Hellenic 0:6 Atlanta Silverbacks Los Angeles Legends 2:3 Ventura County Fusion Kalamazoo Outrage 0:5 Minnesota Lightning Sunday June 8 Western Mass Lady Pioneers 0:4 Laval Comets Vermont Lady Voltage 0:1 Hamilton Avalanche Connecticut Passion 2:1 Fredericksburg Lady Gunners Pali Blues 5:1 Real Colorado Cougars Boston Renegades 4:1 Northern Virginia Majestics New Jersey Wildcats 1:5 Washington Freedom
FC Indiana vs. Minnesota tonight at Purdue This is a big match for both teams as far as the standing go. Hope to have a personal account of the game for you tomorrow.
Sorry but I won't get back to my computer until tomorrow morning around 7 am. Right now it is clear and 80 with high suppose to be 85 and low this evening of 65. Should be nice around match time (6:30). We have had a lot of rain in the area but from what I have seen the Purdue pitch is very nice.

Hey Bob, question, new to the league. How does the tournament work at the end of the season?? Does the league take the top team from each conference, or do they take the top 2 teams from each conference like the PDL does?? So in the Midwest, everyone is fighting for 2nd place and a chance to advance to the post-season tournament??
It remains to be seen just how they're going to do it this year, but last year it worked like this: Eastern Conference: #3 team in each division visits the #2 team and plays a match to decide who goes to the conference tournament, which is hosted by the team with the best record in the conference. So the division winners and the winners of the runner-up games play in a four-team elimination tournament, winner goes to the championship. Central Conference: The top two teams play a four-team elimination tournament, winner goes to the championship. Western Conference (with only one division): The top two teams play, winner goes to the championship. You can see the official explanation toward the bottom of the rules page.
