    I know you meant Gauloises, but this got me thinking...Toronto Goaleos -- pronounced like and sponsorsed by Oreos. The jersey could be two black stripes on the outside and one white stripe down the middle.

    And props to the one who suggested Toronto Geddy Lees. But how about Toronto Rush, it just has more zing. "And the men who hold high places..." during the warm-ups, I'm down with that.

    Toronto Northern Lights is kinda clunky, but hell, I'll take anything that's not a Euro-copy.

    Unfortunately, a sports team can't trademark only a city name... primarily, because it already "belongs" to the municipality in question.
