No. If MLSE is going to adopt a name for their new soccer team that has synergy with one of their other franchises, they ought to tie-in to the Raptors' kid-friendly identity package. Torontosaurus Rex SC, anyone? (Ducks flying debris and exits.)
Wait. I have another one. In the spirit of recent corporate buyouts of other MLS clubs, I present you with: The Toronto Molsons
So maybe this is another poll where MLS lets everyone vote then use the name they have already decided on and registered despite the vote...
I wrote in Toronto Internationals as well, and that was BEFORE I read through this thread. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I really didn't like any of the pre-selected choices that are on there.
I dont know why we'd vote on this since we all know they'll just get bought and the team will be the Toronto Molson Ice
Toronto Northmen FC. I like that one, I'm apparently the first as well. They're in Toronto, which is in the North, they're also men, and its a football club. Most obvious choice.
Toronto is only in the north if you're in the United States. If you're in Canada, they're in the south. In fact they're south of Portland, Ore, Minneapolis, etc. So Northmen, much like Internationals makes more sense if you're an American than it does from a Canadian perspective. cheers, hobbes
i suppose thats true. How aboot the Lumberjacks FC, then. That seems inclusive to all Canadians, right?
Not an option, but I'll weigh in with the Toronto Tartans. They could wear plaid black, gold, and gray kits with white lettering--lots of folks with Scottish descent in Canada.
Toronto Artic Blast or Toronto BreakWind or Toronto Blue Balls or Toronto Lumberjacks or Toronto FC Aay
