Depeche Mode's Violator and Elvis Costello's My Aim Is True are great suggestions. How about: Violent Femmes R.E.M. - Murmur Blur - Parklife
Or we could broaden it to CD Collection Survivor. One of you guys could pony up the names of your fifteen favorite CDs and the rest of us could use the list to play Survivor. We'll whittle your collection down to the final least objectionable CD you own.
I'd do that -- great idea. Tell us your top 10-15-20 albums of all time, and the rest of us get to show you what bad taste you have. Who gets victimized first?
It should be someone who is even-tempered and a good sport since they'll be taking some amusing ribbing. Plus, they should have a CD collection with a lot of familiar names in it so we know what we are voting off. Perhaps Lastort or Nancyb?
CD collection survivor is a great idea. Lots of opportunity for some serious taste-slammage. Re: next albums -- more late suggestions: Miles Davis: Kind of Blue Wailers: Catch a Fire The Specials: The Specials The Velvet Underground and Nico Talking Heads: More Songs About Buildings and Food Rolling Stones: Exile on Main Street Clearly, I'm going for the biggies. I think that would allow for the widest participation.
i vote for REM murmur exile would take lifetimes. can you imagine the scathing PMs for voting off Rip This Joint?
I'd go for that too. I'm preferential to "Paul's Boutique", I just think "Check Your Head" got broader exposure than PB. CYH would be a little tougher, given the interlude and instrumental songs.
