I saw the Pixies this weekend and thus am in a Pixies kind of mood . . . then again, I don't want to know what some you folks would do to "Doolittle." So never mind.
I think going through "What's the Story, Morning Glory?" would be more fun (and easily much less painful than "London Calling".
|I was thinking Quadrophenia or Who's Next - but the poll never appeared ! I'm not sure many people would be familiar with Quadrophenia on here but it is a damn fine album
I don't know if I'll have the stomach to tear apart another Clash album after this one. Plus, do you see how long it's taking us to do it? I imagine it'd only be worse for "Sandinista".
I don't know how many people would be able to participate, but I was thinking the other day about how "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" would be a very interesting candidate. Not only would it be painful to eliminate any of the songs, but I honestly have no idea which song would win. No Clue. It seems everyone has their own favoite on that album. So yeah. Consider that my nomination.
At least I've heard of Violator. My other votes would be The Smiths, Meat Is Murder, or The White Album (that could go on for a couple of months)
Folks, you gotta understand, you can't expect obscure albums to work. If only three posters have heard all the songs, it's going to die. The ones that have worked have been both very good albums and well known. I would suggest The Sex Pistols Never Mind the Bollocks or The Beatles Sgt. Peppers or second (or third) Beck Odelay
I agree. It would be a tough but interesting album to do. However, I don't think enough people are familiar with it to get a lot of participation. Plus, it would be painful to read posts voting off "Oh, Comely" because "it's too long".
Both excellent suggestions. While I personally was never into Wu-Tang, I think "36 Chambers" would be a good thread as well. I'd nominate "Paid in Full", or "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back".
