Mutu retired today. @MutuILFenomeno the league us weak enough that we'll still do ok as long as we can get someone to bag a few goals. Aquilani has been good for us but he's really being eclipsed by Mati now, anyway. Cuadrado needs to go back on the right wing rather than being used centrally. Our weakest link is really Montella.
I saw a stat a few weeks back that we tend to do better in games that Mati and Aqui start, than other combinations. Montella - he may have reached his limit. Something isn't right.
I'm a Montella fan, but his lack of development as a coach is at this point becoming hard to deny, and three horrible January runs in a row is not acceptable. The situation with Marin, Badelj and Richards is baffling. They look good against weak competition, yet we don't ever see them in Serie A. I can't tell if these were poor signings by Prade, or a sign of Montella's hesitation in changing from his trusted players.
Yeah, especially Badelj and Marin have looked like they may be among our best players in their limited time that they have actually played. And Richards has to be at least as good as Tomovic, right? Right?!
Looks like Aquaman is staying. http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/01/aquilani-edges-closer-to-fiorentina-renewal/
Ouch http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...cah-richards-just-not-it-4057543#.VLJxdyt_TIU We're crying out for a senior Rossi/Gomez foil in Serie A, it's no good playing the fringe only in europe.
Florence coach recommends Gomez end career. http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/vincenzo-montella/raet-gomez-zu-karriereende-39303568.bild.html Montella says disappointed: "I expect more from him. He is an important player. The fans are close to him. He experienced a psychological block, because he is not the player who was admired in the past. " Gomez had left are a tremendous chance repeatedly against Palermo . Even at the 1: 0 defeat at Parma striker missed the impact a penalty and even apologized to the fans. The Italian sports Gazette "Corriere dello Sport" does not spare criticism of the former Bundesliga striker: "Gomez is only the phantom of the striker, he once was. Gomez's crisis has reached an absolute alarming level. He runs, fights, but he does almost everything wrong. " Gomez has to dress warmly in the future, because Montella's patience and the media with the sensitive striker seems finally over ...
I read it a couple months ago (as were linked with every coulda been striker on the planet) but no thanks.
my only hope is Montella can get Balotelli to actually score a few goals. Maybe mature a bit as well. Gomez, sadly, appears done, at least in Montella's eyes. Time for a new striker.
http://freepressjournal.in/misfirin...league-is-way-to-foster-bonding-in-liverpool/ Maybe he's got the right idea...
Rosati is officially ours. Don't know if he'll be better than Tata though. Think we'll need to invest a world class keeper in the summer
Signed Rosati on a permanent basis for 18 mo through 2016, we are rumored to loan for Salah from Chelsea, and Gomez rumored to leave this summer. Also, it seems nobody actually wants to pay for Neto (Roma, Juve, Liverpool), Ilicic is debating whether to join Bologna where a deal has already been struck between clubs while Torino also wants him, Richards likely to stay until the end of the season, we want Bertolacci from Genoa. Ugh, I think we are going to need a rehaul this summer in terms of players and personnel.
This kid has scored 8 goals in his last 9 matches for Palermo and he's only 21. Someone's going to scoop him up in the summer http://ca.soccerway.com/players/paulo-dybala/201072/
