Not gonna be able to make it tonight as I have to work late in DC and won't be able to make it out there by match start....but I will mos def make it next time.
We had an attendance of 7 last night at the Green Turtle, not too shabby for first time out on a Wednesday night. Someone had the corner area we wanted reserved, I didn't know you could reserve the section, maybe something to look into for the future. The overall situation was pretty good with 2 TVs showing the DC United game, and another on Gol TV. They switched to the USMNT game afterwards. The food was good and drink specials were decent. I think we scared some of the trivia people with our shouting.
it wasnt finns, but good times. ******** the trivia mc, ******** all the douchebags. at least i got boddingtons on tap and ate a ton of wings.
I Dbags weren't too happy with you talking to their ladies or getting beat down by a Team United Trivia.
Is anyone planning to get together in this area for the game tonight? I live in Annapolis, but the Greene Turtle is a short ride north for me.
The only location in the Columbia area which has Fox Soccer Channel is Sonoma's Bar & Grille, 7824 Cradle Rock Way, Columbia, MD, (410) 381-7220. They have confirmed that they can definitely have at least one TV on the DC United game. There will be a band there, it will be loud, so there is zero chance of getting audio, but the game will be on.
I am pretty sure the Green Turtle will get the game, the last time we went there they had goal TV on. I know my comcast, I live a few miles away, requires you to get both usually.
OK, it doesn't sound like many people are going out tonight. I'd rather not compete with a band for the audio. I think I'll stay home and watch this one and then try to get something organized for the next away game.
This is pretty much how we turned Kilroy's. Pip the owner said show me the money. We did, the rest is history. If you guys make it a practice to make it for EVERY away viewing they'll get it. It'd be great to have another soccer friendly bar especially when it's in your backyard.
