Missed the first penalty review but I guess it was over turned and shouldn’t have been. Then Palace get one after a VAR check and score it! I don’t think there was much in it being a penalty.
That was such a clear penalty as well, play should have been stopped instantly to check the offside etc to avoid this from happening.
First penalty had to be overturned, clear (but soft) foul in the build up. That second penalty was a clear penalty but why not stop play and review, the play continued for 5 minutes.
I missed most of the review for the second, just saw one replay. I had the dodgy one and the actual one mixed up!
Foul happened at 52:57 and play stopped for the VAR review at 54:44. So a minute and a bit, Ian Darke said it was "five minutes ago". Darke then updates later and says it was 1m45s. But it was still a long time and play should have been paused instantly.
This is Hodgson's Palace. So I think there’s a decent chance they can hold onto this lead. Go Eagles!! …which makes me think/realize we haven’t seen that pre-match eagle flying between the goals in a while. I suppose the old one died, but wouldn’t you think they’d replace it? It was a nice quirky little routine I thought.
Wow - soft soft soft double yellow. Ayew got a yellow for stepping in front of a fk then one for a pretty standard foul. ouch
And Ayew gets a stupid second yellow and gets sent off. Watch Pool make a comeback and win now that all the money for Palace has entered the Asian betting markets.
Sorry boys. I jinxed that one. Ayew gets a silly second yellow. A minute later Salah gets a lucky deflection for 1-1.
I wish nothing but bad things for Palace. Too shit to hold out for a draw. Not shit enough to get relegated.
A team competing for the title with an injury time winner against a team in the bottom half of the table. Sound familiar?
