I mean he really gave it away with his own anecdote Ser Fergus did not get a major decision against him for 550+ days He was obviously supposed to win the league and retire the season he was pipped by City. His absurd streak began around the new year of that season for the run in. Then the next season nothing was given until the infamous David Luiz fake but Utd had already won the title at that stage. Then suddenly under Moyes, Utd give up 3 pens at home - this never would have happened under Ser Fergus
The complicity of the media was absurd as well. e.g. when we were kicked off the ground at OT for the 50th streak - they received scant punishment, then Rooney dives for a red Then the media say Arsenal lack spine
The media love-on with United is unfathomable,t hey were all nearly wetting themselves when United went top the other day.
Catching up on today's games, the early results went in our favor with Wolves & Leeds dropping maximum points. Fulham is currently holding Chelsea but that's likely to change now that Antonee Robinson just got sent off for a wild tackle. Two tangential things I noticed from the highlights of the early matches: Raul Jimenez now has a 3-4" scar on the side of his skull. Being a forward (unless they outlaw heading real soon) it may be challenging for him, even with headgear, to return to his place in the team, and beyond. I hope I'm wrong. Elland Road pitch was awful... nothing like we're used to in the 2010's in the top-flight. Super soggy & cut up. I know they had some snow/etc up there, but still... do they not have good drainage? did they just host a rugby match?
this was the part that pissed me off most watching the chelsea-fulham game where azpilicueta clearly had multiple compound fractures at least twice. sure, i am willing to accept that the follow through made it a red. . . . . . except for the fact that i know damn good and well that it MIGHT have been a yellow against us. if a card at all.
Good on James Maddison for his (non) celebration after an awesome roofer. The world needs more adults like him setting a good example for the millions of people who watch EPL to follow.
I used to wonder how many goals United might score, now I wonder how many penalties they will get. Liverpool playing two out of position CH,s. What could possibly go wrong?
Bore draw. Was always going to be a 0-0 affair both teams couldn't afford the loss. That said, the internet would have been a more fun place with a United win. Imagine months ago, with the countless "Oles at the wheel" memes, the Rashford memes, all the other stuff about Fred being a dud, and they roll Pool at home. Secretly I was hoping for 4-4 and for them to get 2 red cards each.
it's probably the best result (aside from the aforementioned 4-4 with 2 red cards each). but, man, i was rooting for liverpool. not that i'm a particular fan of them but i despise united (as we discussed above) and their misery is always good.
The best result for me was a United loss. We're are not catching either of them this year and I don't want United to even come close to winning the league.
Liverpool started to look like Kloppiola - dominating possession and getting countered dangerously by an inferior Man Utd team who just sat back Clearly this season Liverpool have injury issues, whereas City who were unlucky last season look to be improving.
I loved Liverpool winning to make Utd heads go splodey It would be hilarious if they won again while Utd go 10 years without winning the league - maybe that is too much to hope for...
matip (no 4) was also not fit enough to start and they decided to not replace lovren (no 3). that's the kind of shit that reminds me of us. it was pretty damn impressive for them to have hung in there.
you aren't wrong. i have zero illusion about us catching either. my best hope is competing with the likes of wolves for the final europa spot at best. on the other hand, i don't mind them catching glimpses of winning the league as long as they don't actually win. it'd keep solskjaer in place rather than someone else coming in. and the closer the top of the league is, the more scrummy it is. and they and the likes of tottenham and city will have to go all out which may interrupt their FA cup run.
Watching this Leicester v Chelski match in the background while I work. LCFC looks really solid. Hard to believe they go top of the table.
With all the build up re United’s chances to win the title, it would be ironic (maybe appropriate is a better word) if Leicester were to win two titles before United wins another.
Leicester looked great tonight. Only a matter of time before the "big boys" come a'calling for Maddison, Barnes, Justin, and Fofana.
