One GOP knock on Harris — not a real American because she spent some of her formative years in Canada. Ted Cruz will be point man for this attack
That is one of the stupidest, most inane things I have ever read. If that's the best they've got, awesome.
I did not click on the video. Now that you mention it, I do remember a video of his late spring/ early summer that was funny. Thanks. I still don't think I will watch.
There were some right wingers (including a Never Trumper) that said she wasn't a real African/American because her dad is from Jamaica. Really?
Joe Biden made the right choice for VP. Kamala Harris not only is a woman, multiracial, multicultural, a worthy example of the nation's diversity, but most importantly, she has what it takes to do the job. We are going to go through some challenging times, and she is somebody who can step in, if necessary.
I agree Personally I think Warren was more qualified, but a number of factors count against her. Especially I think she is needed in a more hands on role as Treasury Secretary.
Don't you know that black people arrived to Jamaica on a Carnival cruise ship. Or wait, was it a bobsled?
Very interesting WaPo's article revealing some of the process. I have to say it is truly impressive they have managed to do all that work, in this pandemic time, and still kept the details confidential. Kudos to Team Biden for their preparation, thoughtfulness and competence. "Ultimately 11 women made it to the final phase of the process, far more than publicly reported, with Biden conducting one-on-one interviews with each over the last nine days, sometimes in person and some virtually. Celinda Lake, one of the Biden campaign’s pollsters, did research on the best way to introduce each of the candidates personal stories, and the campaign prepared rollout strategies, including potential new campaign logos, for all of the finalists." "Other teams of political researchers, meanwhile, began releasing information into the public in an effort to complicate their paths to the nomination. In an effort to help them respond, the Biden team tried to elevate all the women’s profiles, fulfilling what staff described as a Biden promise to enhance each candidate’s public profile. He hosted the candidates on his podcast, fundraisers and virtual town halls, while his staff helped place them on television news programs." https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...icktock-1115pm-1-duplicate:homepage/story-ans
SAVAGE! Kamala Harris will be campaigning from inside Donald Trump’s head. No word on what social distancing is like in there.— Dan Rather (@DanRather) August 12, 2020
The only possible objection I can come up with for Harris is the possibility that she would be more useful as an AG to supervise the prosecution of suspects from the previous regime.

The few Lefty people that I follow seem to not be happy but are saying that Trump out is more important. I do see replies about people arguing with progressives about not sitting this out. BTW I like how the "one time" it doesn't apply line. I can not believe some of you are back on the "both sides are just as bad" train again. The ONE time that doesn't apply is now. After everything we've been through the last 4 months, you can not possibly believe that in real life. You can't.— Bassey Ikpi (@Basseyworld) August 11, 2020
Jamelle Bouie is already slapping that dumb s*** into the gutter where it belongs: Here, Du Bois is useful. "The black man is a person who must ride 'Jim Crow' in Georgia." Which is to say, what makes Harris "black in an American context" is that her phenotype makes her subject to race hierarchy. https://t.co/hb6h0DgXiQ— b-boy bouiebaisse (@jbouie) August 12, 2020
There is a deep bench for this AG role. Sally Yates is my pick, but Preet Bahara would be great, Schiff or Doug Jones as well.
Mayor Garcetti said yesterday morning the pick will be electrifying. I am realizing now he was right. The excitement within the Democratic base is through the roof. I lost count how many friends or family members who had a similar reaction after the announcement. IIRC Arabs are considered white, which would definitely throw a lot of Klan-adjacent folks for a loop.

Plenty of others to do that. Preet Bharara might be looking for a gig. Maybe not the top job, but somewhere at the US AG office. That payback would be a bitch. There are 46 others who might want a crack again. I might propose (former) Illinois AG Lisa Madigan. She was an excellent AG in Illinois before "retiring" in 2018 (although never prosecuted her dad like she should have, probably). She made it through 16 years as AG, without having a single political scandal, and, considering who her dad is, that is an accomplishment. Of course, she is making bank now as a litigation partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
