Halftime. No score. Only mention of Vanney is

Pernneteau a heurté son coéquipier Vanney lors d'une sortie au poing. L'Américain est au sol et prend quelques instants pour se relever, légèrement sonné.

Looks like his goalkeeper may have punched him in the head? Hope it was unintentional.

    80' still no score.

Bastia down to 10 men since the 70' mark when Pierre-Yves Andre (I believe he is a forward) is sent off.

Crud. As I refresh the page, Istres exploits their advantage to take the lead. Rafik Saifi crosses from the right and Moussa N'Diaye converts from near the penalty spot.

Last place Istres is minutes away from their first win of the season.

    FT Istres 1 Bastia 0

First win of the season (and in their whole history?) for Istres.

Dour game. The matchtracker was pretty critical. Even with my non-comprehension of French I could tell they were criticizing the lack of effort on Bastia's part after the goal as well as the lack of offensive soccer from both teams throughout the whole game.

It would appear Vanney played the whole game but I only saw his name mentioned the one time.

"Pernneteau ran into his teammate Vanney while coming out to punch the ball clear. The American is on the ground and is taking a few minutes to get back up, lightly 'dinged'."
