With the Rapids mathematically eliminated from the playoffs - I figured back in June they were done in June - it will be interesting to see what, if any motivation the side has in this match.
Mark, thank you for starting this thread so that I know they are playing. Oh my, how things have changed. Rapids win 2-1, Wilson and Harris scoring. If this is correct, I’m immediately buying a lottery ticket.
I will be there to support those players who are still busting their backsides out of personal pride or concern for their future employment or just because it is the only way left to them to honor the beauty of this beautiful game and the gifts they were given to be able to play it.
2-2 tie. Fair result. Played with energy the second half. Reasonably entertaining. I am surprised the Dick allowed the “deserved better” banner to stand all game.
Didn't post it here, but the prediction on my blog was 1-1 draw, goal by Bassett. Missed it by that much.
Those two goals tonight put us at 23 goals for the season, one better than 2013 DC United which holds the record for least goals in a 34 game season (and, COVID-season excepted, worse goals/game in league history).
I wasn't able to attend or watch on TV, but a family member who did made the observation that when Diaz and Harris came on at the half for Cabral and Galván the Rapids attack kicked into gear.
Absolutely! It was as different as night and day. There was an urgency going forward and actual attacking options that were completely missing in the first half. Cabral...well, enough said.
