A more aware player would have just immediately chipped Naeher there. Definitely not the clear Naeher wanted.
Rapinoe's service hasn't been as good as I'd expect. She was better in the more limited minutes in the last game.
Off the crossbar! I would have loved to see that one, and Huerta get the assist. She's had an excellent half.
They are not defending the outside backs though. So Huerta is wide open on the flank. The US is squeezing the wingers inside to open up the flank for the outside back.
She has some talent, but the final product isn't there technically. She is doesn't really have a 1 v 1 move or high finishing quality. She is athletic, pacey, can run by people, and can log minutes. But she is someone I would be surprised to see on the WC roster in 2023.
That's what the outside backs for this team do: get forward and add numbers to the attack. And Colombia is sitting back, and not pressuring as much outside the 18-22 yard line, regardless of who it is out there (while they're meanwhile double-teaming Morgan). Huerta gets just as much attention once she's closer to goal. Huerta has made good runs, had great crosses, and gotten very involved in the attack (which Pickett hasn't as much, but it's her first cap, so it's fine). I actually think Purce has done fairly well, with some good looks on goal. She's missing the final product, and she has had some shrosses...if they're crosses, she needs to cut them back more. She could have connected with Morgan or Pinoe on a couple of them if they had been more across the 6 and not to the keeper. And if they're shots, she needs more on them (and a better angle on some of them).

Colombia has definitely had more in their offensive third this game. Did they even have any shots last game?
