Well done the Revs! That must be awfully sweet after the last couple years, huh? Thought I would offer my congrats. Sincerely. Don't tell anyone but if there were no Wizards, I would probably root for the Revs.
So that's what a trophy feels like. Great game. They burst out of their "it's a final, must play for a 1-0 win" shell! Exciting game and the right result. Booyah!

Well, 've been waatching this team since day one and I'm pretty happy... It was just a little surreal trying to justify my jubilation to the half a dozen people in the Nashville bar I was in... but oh well./... Wishing I'd gone ahead and flown down for this now just so I'd have folks to celebrate with who give a crap. I got the game turned on and around halftime the guy next to me at the bar wanted to see the baseball game that was on before I got there, but he said he understood it was an Irish Pub and soccer had precedence... I was like, "not American soccer, bud... You should have said something. This is the oldest competition in American soccer and do you see anyone else here who gives a crap?" But I was excited and happy... And then I got to argue with various people about the various merits of various sports... I lost the victorious high all too fast when I realized that place is packed for EPL and I was the only fan who showed up for our version of the FA Cup. The two guys who bothered to watch with me both agreed that soccer is on the rise in the USA though... Anyway, sorry for the downer... I'm of two minds on this long-awaited victory given my present circumstances and locale... GO REVS!
I wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of the gang at The Phoenix is still there; it was insane. We probably had around 40 people there, were chanting and singing throughout the entire game, and I kid you not... we actualy drove some Red Sox fans out of the bar in the process; I love that. I can't tell you how I feel.... I'm stuck for words.... we won... lots of hugs all around at The Phoenix, great to see .... damn, I'm just grinning ear to ear. Hell, I was walking home, bumped into Adam Sell and friend on Mass Ave., and a giant bear hug was exchanged. We have to change the tagline to "Holy shit! We won something!" I need a shower and sleep. Three - Two Even Thompson scored! Three - Two Even Thompson scored! Three - Two Even Thompson scored! Three - Two Even Thompson scored!
Ahh... this is wonderful. It's probably because I was by myself, listening on a crappy web cast, but my reaction wasn't really jubilation the way I thought it would be. It's more of a glowing pride and a quiet determination to make this the first step to even bigger things. It's been a heck of a year. GO REVS.
I've been cycling through si.com, mlsnet.com, revolutionsoccer.net, foxsoccer.com, soccernet.com, etc and it's all that same pic of Twellman
