Commercial had Davids wlaking around what looks like New York. He sees some guys playing street bball. He sits on a bench to watch when the balls comes to him. He gets up to get it wuth his feet, of course. The bball players asks for it and he does these crazy dribbles and juggling to get it away from him. That's the basic premise of it. They'll probably show it more often.

Lay off. That's our line. Although I guess "BarnBurners 1871 Baby!" doesn't have the same ring, does it?

Yeah, with Mr. Timmy Howard stealing the show at the end there. Nice to FINALLY see an American player in one of those ads.

Anyone gotten a copy of the Sun-Times? Does it have a nice story WITH a photo like the web site edition does? All I can get in Iowa City is that "Tribune" rag that is easier to find than dirt. Their coverage kind of sucked.

"I can run for 90 minutes now, and you guys raise hell because I can't play soccer." - Clint Mathis

Well, Clint, that is what they pay you to do.

I prefer this version of the quote as seen in the MDSC Daily Reporter.

    "I can't play soccer." - Clint Mathis

I really like Tim Howard as a player, now that he left MLS. :)

the ads can be found on the lower right hand corner of the popup. It will load up some create your own 'Zine Flash piece. The ads are the little clippings that are found on the upper left. This is good for you broadband users.

Congrats to Fire management, the Fire players and most of all to the Fire fans.

    A Cup well earned.

You guys might be good enough to get the Triple. Scary.

  16. I haven't seen the Sackoschitz quote, but this snippet from the Metrofanatic match report gave me a chuckle:
    http://www.metrofanatic.com/mf/story.jsp?ID=1553

This reputed handball would have been awfully hard for any referee to see since CJ was on the bench the whole match.

This is what Metros consider good numbers.

The Metro game report captions this photo as Jolley "taking on" Ralph. Of course, "taking on" is often defined as "outright fouling with no fear of consequence."

They should have done like the NHL and put some champagne (or Hennessy) in the trophy and let the players (aside from Capano and Mapp) drink from it.

One thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned is how great of a job DaMarcus did on defense last night. 4 or 5 games ago we were really ragging on him because he was lagging and looked very bored and unmotivated out on the field but watching the replay on tv tonight, he had some great take aways and blocks that really ended up being huge. It's great to see him really up his game.

I'm pretty sure that you can buy the Sun Times at City News on College Street. Probably College Street News as well. Guess what street that is on :D. I know for the fact the Iowa City Public Library carries it. You can read it there if all else fails.

Ummm, Crazy? I know you've moved, but City News went under about a year ago. The Pita Pit is there now. I've never even heard of College Street News. Oh yeah, Easy Place burned down, too.
