One less player to injure players with a real chance at playing for the NT. Boswell was a dirty player.
so a non factor in the US NT retired before all of those 30+ year olds who failed to make the WC. Most countries after a failure to qualify, their aging/older players retire very quickly after the setback. Not 3 months later and still nothing.....

Updated the coaches pool to include the B & H game minutes... Here is the link to the Google Sheet So far Sarachan has 2 games and 1 camp since taking over. 1 Camps: (1) Jan Camp 2 Rosters/Games: (1) Portugal, (2) B & H ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules for this pool: • Sarachan has/had to list a player on a roster or call them up to a camp/game • All info (Minutes Played, Caps, Camps etc) is accumulated from when Sarachan took over Edit: use the tabs along the bottom of the spread sheet to view positions.
The more one looks at player pools for 2022, the more it seems likely that we won't qualify. It would be interesting to compare the USMNT to another non-qualifier, the Netherlands, for instance. They'll probably qualify next time though their UEFA competition is usually better than CONCACAF. 2022 is so far far away; how could anyone predict anything about the USMNT?
I agree. If we look at the loss to Costa Rica at home in September (0-2) we see that our main problem is scoring. You don't qualify if you don't score goals. Canada has some real good talent coming up the ranks and could provide competition for us if they get serious about their program. It is more likely they will get more serious as they become more immersed in soccer thru the MLS franchises. Next consider that Jamaica would have been more threatening than Trinidad had they made the hex. With the pool expanding in the USA, there is more room for corruption in marketing the team which is something we have already seen in the failed 2018 cycle. I don't see the media playing it straight so the only hope is for a more educated soccer public that will demand solid players.
ooh so the media isn't playing it straight? how so? the problem is people dismissing people like you dismissing people because they don't agree with you and then calling them a cartel or 'not playing it straight'. Like the media somehow wanted the us to miss the world cup...you realize the people that lost the most money out of the world cup fiasco is the media? fox put billions in a tournament that the us isn't playing in. espn literally has little reason to even employ soccer people at this point.
https://www.theplayerstribune.com/geoff-cameron-what-must-change-in-u-s-soccer/ At Stoke, sometimes we have a few of the academy kids come and fill in during practice if we need some extra bodies, and we can usually tell within the first five minutes — seriously, within the first five — whether or not the kid is going to make it as a pro. There’s a certain mentality. A certain look in their eyes. A certain demeanor when they take a really hard tackle. You can recognize it almost instantly. It has nothing to do with athleticism or size — attributes that the scouts and coaches in U.S. Soccer seem obsessed with sometimes. I remember the first time I trained with Bojan Krkić at Stoke. He’s listed at like 5′ 7″, but he looked more like 4′ 10″. And the guy was just an absolute animal out there. He’d made it through the Barcelona system at that size. I remember thinking to myself, What would’ve happened if he had come up in U.S. Soccer? I’ll never forget a club coach telling me, when I was maybe 14 years old, that I would never make it as a pro because I was “too small.” (I grew to be 6′ 4″.) But this is the mentality that is so toxic across the board in youth soccer in America. It’s not about proving yourself every day. It’s about what you did last year. It’s about who you know. It’s about your size. It’s about your reputation. It’s about what fancy youth club you play for. If you want to see what’s wrong with U.S. Soccer in a single image, just go out to one of these fancy suburbs some weekend and spot the coaches of the fancy club teams strutting on the sidelines. Half of them are carrying themselves like they’re Pep Guardiola. I mean, the arrogance. It’s unbelievable.
you are doing that right now lol. you started with a post about canada being great at player development and the us not because of 'corruption'(not sure you know what it means) and us media not 'playing it straight'...I replied to those comments and you came back with me something about pep wannabe coaching a youth team down the road. So I am confused now is the issue the corrupt marketing teams who instead of making millions on soccer have decided to lose millions because a guy down the road thinks he is pep? so I'll ask again what is the marketing 'corruption' and what do you mean by the media 'not playing it straight'.
which part didn't you say I can quote you either way read ur comment about canada...talent coming up and if they get serious they will be a threat and they most likely will...ur words....then that there is room for more corruption this cycle on top of that we've already seen in the 2018 cycle...which didn't you say?
