Reports say Taylor Booth is out 4-6 weeks with a knee injury. https://t.co/bcNTIY8iiD— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) February 22, 2024 4-6 weeks for Booth. Which knocks him out for the March window.
That’s too bad but at least it’s not 4-6 months. That said, he’s about at the point of just call it a season. How much would it be worth it to rush back to only play in May? On the other hand, he’ll want to do that to be ready for Copa America / Olympics.
We'll see. Should miss the March window, but be ready to go after that. No need to rush things. I will say that missing this Nations League window isn't good for Copa America prospects. Cuz Booth hasn't played for the full national team since last March. [So just about a year ago.] And to this day he's only played 44 minutes. I've been an advocate of Booth for the Olympic team for a while. This might seal that particular route. [Paredes to Copa America, Booth to Olympics. However..............there are twists and turns to come.]
I feel like this locks in Booth for the Olympics, which is perfectly wine. I’d say Aaronson and Parades have the inside track as the backup wingers but there’s also the option of dropping one of them for Sargent.
Is there a Catch-22 here? Namely that if a player is good enough for the Olympics, he's also good enough so that his European club won't want to release him.
The people in the know seem to think guys will mostly get released, even from European teams (especially those outside the top 4). My sense is the guys we’d be most likely to have release issues with are the ones who are going to end up on the Copa America team anyways.
Don’t know if he’ll make Nations League but seems close 🍒 Tyler Adams is back in group training at Cherries. Is set for some minutes soon with the development squad, before a first team return.Iraola: “He is doing really well.“No pain and he is training well.” #afcb #usmnt 👇🏻 https://t.co/t91O7Qjzrt— Tom Crocker (@TomCrockerEcho) February 26, 2024
Comments from Allegri yesterday suggest that McKennie is still in the frame for the Nations League. We'll see. It doesn't appear to be a longer-term injury, at least. McKennie could return from injury for USMNT's Nations League matches (msn.com) "McKennie will do everything he can to be there next week," said Allegri, raising the prospect of the Texas native playing a part in March 10's home match against Atalanta. The international window opens up March 18, meaning McKennie will have two Juventus matches to prove he's fit enough to be included. After facing Atalanta, the Bianconeri will host Genoa on March 17.
Good thing McKennie has that wolverine healing ability. I wish he could pass it on to the rest of the team. Was it something the US government secretly gave soldiers that gets passed down to their children?
Updates: -Tyler Adams returned to action on March 13. Bournemouth is off this weekend. -Weston McKennie returned to action for Juventus last weekend. -Cameron Carter-Vickers returned for Celtic today and is starting. -Gio Reyna returned to action for Nottingham Forest today and is on the bench. -Luca de la Torre is out for Celta Vigo today. -Lennard Maloney remains unavailable for Heidenheim.

Sargent with an ankle twist. He probably shouldn’t have been called up anyway. He hasn’t been training fully with NCFC nursing this ankle injury for weeks.
What happened to Gabriel Slonina? He was injured and replaced from the Olympic roster by Chris Brady.
