The Hughes Stadium thing isn't set in stone. The sense I get is the team sees it more as a fall back option if nothing else works out. The fact that Sac City won't let the team paint over the football lines (like they do in Seattle and New England) and the stands are so far away from the field makes it a poor fit. I think if you have MLS aspirations, you have to do better.
I would comment on how this statement.. but as much as I want to comment, I don't want this USL expansion thread becoming a "BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS CITY!!1!1" MLS expansion thread.
I probably should have added that I believe the USL team will do much better, both next year and beyond.
They unveiled a slightly more refined version of the crest at the announcement. I have grown to like it quite a bit.
It's a little different, but mostly the same. I think it could still use some slight tweaks, but overall I love it.
