Hmm, still no numbers from Richmond. We have a lot of weekday games this week, and not just against MLS reserve squads. The Rhinos end their opening road trip at Chicago this afternoon, and Orlando visits Dallas tomorrow night. Then Harrisburg visits Orange County on Thursday night. Chicago visits Charlotte and Los Dos visits Arizona on Friday night.
Attendance: 2,523 http://www.richmondkickers.com/home/803112.html Also, LAGII is reporting 435 for their game against the Blues. http://www.lagalaxy.com/news/2014/0...ing-ways-3-1-victory-over-orange-county-blues *awaits discussion on another decreasing Los Dos attendance number*

Despite five LAII home games, we so far have the best median and best >3% ever. OKC, Rochester and Sacramento have yet to have a home game. It's a very lopsided schedule to start the season. Still basically way too early to tell anything, but there's certainly some things to be hopeful for. Lots of games this week, including OKC and Sacramento home openers.
Are the numbers for the previous years also for the corresponding 11.7% or for year end? IMO, medians are nice, but the AVG is the most important number. That should bump up this week with the home openers (especially since Sacramento is looking at mid-teens).
In case you want to see this borne out, here are last year's "road draw" numbers: Team..............................G..Total..Average Seattle Sounders FC Reserves......1..10,697..10,697 Montreal Impact Reserves..........1...5,406...5,406 New York Red Bulls Reserves.......1...4,287...4,287 Dayton Dutch Lions...............11..34,817...3,165 Toronto FC Reserves...............1...3,104...3,104 VSI Tampa Bay FC.................12..36,977...3,081 Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves.......1...3,000...3,000 Houston Dynamo Reserves...........1...2,988...2,988 Phoenix FC Wolves................12..35,627...2,969 Los Angeles Blues................11..32,274...2,934 Charlotte Eagles.................12..32,432...2,703 Wilmington Hammerheads...........11..28,931...2,630 Orlando City.....................12..31,412...2,618 Pittsburgh Riverhounds...........11..28,461...2,587 Richmond Kickers.................12..29,710...2,476 Real Salt Lake Reserves...........1...2,386...2,386 Harrisburg City Islanders........12..27,196...2,266 Antigua Barracuda FC.............26..57,983...2,230 Charleston Battery...............12..26,499...2,208 Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves...1...2,135...2,135 Rochester Rhinos.................12..23,253...1,938 Colorado Rapids Reserves..........1...1,899...1,899 Columbus Crew Reserves............1...1,621...1,621 Chicago Fire Reserves.............1...1,336...1,336 Portland Timbers Reserves.........1.....292.....292 Now, you tell me...were people just dying to see VSI Tampa Bay, or did the fact they played in Orlando twice skew their numbers? And is Orlando - the best team in the league (along with Richmond) not a team people want to see, or are they mathematically hurt because they don't get to play any road games in the stadium that draws, on average, the most fans? Are people really more than three times as interested to see the Charlotte Eagles play on the road than the people in Charlotte are? Did Dayton draw more than 4x its home crowds on the road because people just had to see Dayton, or because they benefited from not having to play road games in Dayton, where nobody goes to games?
All the numbers are helpful to the conclusions we can draw. Actually, the most important number is the one we will never get: revenue. At the end of the day, that's all that matters.
Are you Are you including reserve games in your comps? I have 27.3% of games being played in front of <1,000. Maybe I'm missing something. I have 22 total games, with 6 of those <1K
For that chart, I'm only displaying 11.7% (or nearest under as all seasons aren't the same # of games) for all seasons. I should have included the final numbers for all previous seasons as a separate table, but forgot to this time. I'll make sure to include them next time so we have an idea of what good numbers are to shoot for.
Hm. I have 26 total games, missing those same two figures. 23 games at USLPRO venues, and 3 at MLS Reserves, the two you're missing and one at FCD. Here's the 23 USLPRO games I have Code: 3773 Sat, March 22, 2014 1 7:30 PM Orlando City SC 1-1 Charleston Battery 1259 2 10:30 PM Orange County Blues FC 1-3 LA Galaxy II 3524 Sat, March 29, 2014 3 7:30 PM Richmond Kickers 2-2 Charleston Battery 5028 4 7:30 PM Pittsburgh Riverhounds 1-1 Orlando City SC 1085 5 10:30 PM Sacramento Republic FC 1-1 LA Galaxy II 591 Fri, April 4, 2014 8 7:00 PM Dayton Dutch Lions 1-0 Charlotte Eagles 3507 Sat, April 5, 2014 12 5:00 PM Pittsburgh Riverhounds 1-3 Richmond Kickers 4776 9 7:30 PM Rochester Rhinos 1-3 Orlando City SC 3256 10 7:30 PM Harrisburg City Islanders 0-0 Wilmington Hammerheads FC 1221 11 10:00 PM OKC Energy FC 2-0 Orange County Blues FC 525 Mon, April 7, 2014 13 10:30 PM OKC Energy FC 2-4 LA Galaxy II 1026 Fri, April 11, 2014 15 7:00 PM Rochester Rhinos 1-1 Dayton Dutch Lions 712 Sat, April 12, 2014 16 7:00 PM Richmond Kickers 1-2 Charlotte Eagles 3902 17 7:00 PM Wilmington Hammerheads FC 4-3 Pittsburgh Riverhounds 4826 18 7:30 PM Charleston Battery 0-1 Orlando City SC 638 19 10:00 PM Sacramento Republic FC 1-2 Orange County Blues FC 2888 20 10:10 PM OKC Energy FC 4-0 Arizona United SC 588 Sun, April 13, 2014 21 6:00 PM Sacramento Republic FC 3-0 LA Galaxy II 2674 Fri, April 18, 2014 23 7:30 PM New York Red Bulls Reserves 1-1 Charleston Battery 2523 Sat, April 19, 2014 27 5:00 PM Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-2 Richmond Kickers 1711 24 7:00 PM Dayton Dutch Lions 1-0 Harrisburg City Islanders 3014 25 10:10 PM Sacramento Republic FC 1-2 Arizona United SC 435 26 10:30 PM Orange County Blues FC 1-3 LA Galaxy II I don't include reserve games held at the reserve team's venue. Here's my logic -- one of the purposes of this is to give us some vague sense of the healthiness of the league and teams. MLS reserve teams aren't part of the USLPRO, so they aren't important for that measure. I realize that it's kind of arbitrary, but with MLS reserve teams only playing 2-3 games, it doesn't make sense to me to include them. It does make sense to include LA since they are playing a full home-away season like the other USLPRO teams. I guess I need to include that disclaimer in my posts because someone's sure to ask farther down the line. For my spreadsheet I copied all games from the USLPRO Schedule pages. I also have 6 games at <1000. There are 14 teams, and they'll each host 14 games = 196 games.
I include everything, but allow you to make up your own minds about the conclusions to draw. Who am I missing? There have been 26 games played, by my count, but I'm missing two figures. I have 24 others. I will include the Dallas game of 4/15 because I have a figure for it. But you're free to do whatever you like.
OK. We have the same thing, but were just stating things differently. And I see now why I didn't include the Final Previous Seasons numbers... I quit because work got busy. And because I got frustrated with how many teams failed to report attendances. Now that I'm between jobs, I'll try and find the time to get last year's numbers.
Note: The last LAG II game was played at the same time as a CUSA game, so parking wasn't free like it normally is. ACB parked at their bar across the street, but many people avoided the stadium. That number is most likely an outlier and the LAG II number should go up from here.
I got a new job! Last day at Vertex, April 17. First day at Texas Health and Human Services, May 1. I've looked through my files and I don't see one from you from last year. Also checked my email and don't see anything. But I did sort of drop off the map end of last season.
Oh, literally between jobs. You know how people say "I'm between jobs at the moment" when they mean "I have no job and no prospects?" I'm glad that's not you. I'll send it if I haven't.
This weekend's game in OKC v. Orlando City has been sold out. I received an email yesterday about it.
Thats great to see from OKC. First 3 home games are at Hughes Stadium starting this Saturday along with May 3 and May 17. Then they move into their stadium June 7th..
Club officials expect 15,000+ for the home opener... http://www.sacbee.com/2014/04/24/6351663/first-home-match-could-be-a-big.html
