Here's a plan that USL foudner/president Francisco Marcos has come up with to scout potential players for the Portuguese women's teams. It's a nice idea, but also kind of troubling at the same time. But I guess with the depth that we have in women's soccer in this country it shouldn't hurt us that much. Already there are several Mexican/Americans on Mexico's womens team. http://www.uslsoccer.com/home/70036.html
There was also at least one Panamian/American on the Panama team that played in the recent Olympic qualifiers.
This is actually good news. While I'm suspicious of the various country/switching things(like the recent Qatar incident), I don't think too many of these players will have a chance on the US Senior team and it's good for them to develop their skills on an international level and get the chance to play great teams at the same time.
