I think yalpstel got it right: Ben Iroha in the Clash's third match, a 3-2 loss to Kansas City. (Yeah, I looked it up...)

I agree with yalpstel too, I was thinking about it last night and was going to look up the other African player we had in 96, but she beat me to it

    Ben Iroha is correct.

I've got one. Which number(s) was/were worn by three different Earthquakes players in 2000, 2001, and 2002? Also, name the players.

One of the numbers is 15 (Russell, Harut, Luchi). Are there more?

Well you got one of the numbers right, Blue Meanie. However, it was Junior Agogo who wore #15 in 2001. Harut didn't play in 2001 and had #12 in 2000.

    There's one more number, though.

Okay, so that means four players have worn 15 in the past four seasons...pretty transient number.

How about 13? Tinsley, I think, then Carrieri and Barclay.

    Another uniform number question:

What current Quakes have worn at least two different numbers with the team? Name the numbers as well.

Ramiro Corrales #22 and #5 (had to look at my Clash trading cards to get this one!)

Troy Dayak #12 and # 19 (got this one from a signed Clash seat cushion from 1997)

    I LOVE my Clash/QUAKES stuff!

    Did you know?
Club America, the same America the QUAKES challenge on September 18th, is/was one of Ramiro's favorite teams. How sa-weet for him!

Cannon at one time wore "0" before switching to "1".

    OOPS, here's another...

Mulrooney broke in wearing #30...then switched to #8...

Yup, the other number was 13 worn by the three guys you identified.

By the way, who wore #15 in 1999? Was it Harut? (He had #12 in 2000.)

In the 1999 Media Guide, Jamie Clark's listing in the player profiles section says he wears #15. However, the alphabetical roster and the numerical roster list him as #26. He ended up wearing #26 during the season.

Harut showed up well into or perhaps after the 2000 pre-season, too late for the 2000 Media Guide and the first issue of Freekick in 2000.

I glanced through a couple old Freekick magazines from 1999, and as far as I could tell no Clash player wore #15 in 1999.

That would be 1999. Kramer wore #1 that season.

    That's what I thought.

Here's another useless trivia question. San Jose was the first MLS team to make an international trip. In which country did they play?

They went to China in 1997 and won at least one game and lost one, not sure the result of the third game.

Hmm, perhaps a bit too easy. In October of 1996, the Clash split a pair of matches in China.

Okay, how many Clash/Quakes players have played in a World Cup?

Correct on all eight of those. I've counted at least four more...

    Missael Espinoza (MEX)
    Mauricio Solis (CR)
    Mike Burns (USA)
    Paco Uribe (MEX)???

I'm sure about the first three...did Emenalo or Iroha ever play in one? I don't think so, nor do I think former USA team regular Martin Vazquez ever made a cup side.

No on the Mexicans. Burns (98), Solis (02), Emenalo (94), and Iroha (94) all played in World Cups.

I believe there's one more, though...

We had a Chilean world cup player on our team in preseason one year (he even got an assist against Brasil) but we cut him because he wasn't so much in soccer shape as pear shape.
