1. Not counting goalkeepers, what player in Clash/Quakes history played the most minutes for the team without scoring a goal? 2. Of all players who have scored goals for the Clash/Quakes, who played the fewest minutes for the team? These questions take into account MLS regular season only.
Is it our current Clash/Quake player Richard Mulrooney? (Unless, like bpc asks, you're looking for someone who hasn't scored a goal EVER.)
Another hint? When did he play for San Jose? What position? I'm just kind of an impatient person. I hate when I can't think of answers!
Cheater How about Dominic Kinnear, the man we traded to get Vasquez and now our esteemed assistant coach... did he ever score for San Jose?
SJQF wins! Martin Vasquez, acquired in a trade for Dominic Kinnear, provided the 1998 Clash with 2,076 forgettable minutes and no goals. Other contenders were Mike Burns (1,660 minutes), Scott Bower (1,577, though he is among the team leaders in Open Cup goals), Dan Calichman (1,442), and Tim Weaver (1,170).
That means, during that shining 2000 season, we watched more than 3000 minutes (combined) of Mike Burns and Dan Calichman (makes note to send another thank you letter to Frank Yallop). I was going to be a wise guy and say Wynalda or Azizi, but we're all about good feelings on this board! More seriously, thanks for doing this Noah, this is a fun thread. Go Quakes Tony
3. Who was the first foreign-born player to score for the Clash? 4. Name all of the players who have played for both the Clash/Quakes and the Galaxy.
Let me try (and I did not cheat, but was tempted!): Zak Ibsen Dan Calichman Harut Karapetyan Adam Frye Lawrence Lozzano How'd I do?
