    Matt Turner is THA TRUTH

Zardes the hero we need and deserve

Arriola, wasnt impressed. Roldan was a darstic improvement.

Gio with a cheeky AF assist

Defense wasnt the prettiest, especially Sands, but they survived.

Dike is not healthy and it hurt us a lot today. Prefer him not playing the final

On to the finals, boys, playing with house money!

Turner was great. Zardes was Zardes. Berhakter’s opening tactics were poor, the team looked sclerotic. His subs and adjustments were rea

Is it time for us to stop pretending that Dike is a better 9 for this team than Zardes now?

When we need a tough goal, Zardes is always the guy who finds it.

Zardes moving up in the US striker power chart. For whatever he lacks, he has been clutch in big games.

I definitely think there are pluses in this tournament. Robinson, Turner and Hoppe come to mind. So don't mean to make this all negative.

But I can't get over the fact this squad -- which was so poorly-constructed and has been poorly managed throughout -- had advanced to the final. Like, how bad is the AFC? How bad is the rest of CONCACAF?

Outplayed for 60 minutes but our superior depth clearly made the difference. We were running circles around them by the end.

We can’t play this stagnant and predicable in the build up and nervy in the back and survive against Mexico. At the same time, I never expected us to win this once I saw the rosters.

Glad we made the final. Glad we’ve identified some depth. Not optimistic about the final but at least we gave ourselves a shot.

How about spinning it as a positive our players have heart, and, due to that, defense, fitness, and more brilliance in individual moments; we can get to the regional tourney final even w/ a poorly constructed, experimental, c-squad?

Dike was hurt but Zardes is still the better player for us.

The failure of Dike to break through this tournament is my biggest disappointment. Really my only real disappointment. In a game that matters, I'm still going with Zardes over Dike (though I'd rather not go with Zardes, either).

For the record, Gioacchini is on my forward/winger depth chart, albeit on the shallow end.

    Turner and Zardes the heroes.

Second half was good. Subs made the difference.

1-0 to the US, who woulda thunk it? (jk, I predicted it, same as Jamaica).

Fun 2nd half will mask a pretty poor performance, yet again.

    Turner is insane.

Nobody else did much. First half everyone but Turner was awful, 2nd half everyone was pretty good.

Not sure why Williamson doesn't get more run, he created the goal.

Other than that, what else is there to say? US has good D, the opposition can't finish, and we get a sorta deserved goal to nip the win.

I think we need to prepare to get absolutely trounced by Mexico, but we made the final with our B team, so as someone else said, it's house money.

Decent effort overall. I like how the team dominated the 2nd half. Not sure what Egg needs to do to improve the first 45s, but the team is responding during the 2nd.

Is it time for you to get glasses to tell when a guy's arm his hanging down and he won't stretch to balls?

Dude separated his shoulder a week and a half ago. Tried to play thru it, but couldn't. You're expecting him to be superhuman or he was never good. Blame Gregg for not noticing he wasn't good to go in practice and then not stopping the experiment even when he could see he wasn't.

    concacaf is horrible.

Any game this team plays outside of concacaf will be much different story...and i predict a rude awakening.

Awesome final 20 minutes. We have the depth Qatar doesn't. When we make subs that late in which we don't lose quality it's nice to see. Cannon immediately opened up the right side attack. Gio, Zardes, were both great.

You want to be negative, be my guest. Yea, bad first half, but Greg out coached Qatar in the second and was spot on with subs. Damn, it’s so much fun to see guys just competing. I’ve had a blast watching this Gold Cup, and look forward to what could be in store in the final.

I would not want to be in Qatar’s group in the World Cup.

He’s a huge step down from our Euro players but I’m not sure he’s not the best striker if we are seeing the best Dike. Hopefully Dike will improve when he heals up.

Williamson is the best midfielder on this roster. BY FAR.

the fact that this coaching staff is with these players FOR WEEKS and cant see it is mindnumbingly bad.

Agree with the first part, but I'd take a matchup vs Qatar in the WC (if we qualify) in a heartbeat.

Terrible first half. Second half was much more open from the outset. Berhalter must have lit a fire. Gio great assist--not just the pass, but the whole play. Zardes, one chance, one goal. F*cking Gyasi continues to be way more solid than lots of people want to believe. Lletget, too, was solid. Started around 35 minutes in the first half, and continue to be crucial in the 2nd. Turner, badass motherf*cker. Good win, even if it took some "luck" (pk, most notably). Williamson definitely the right sub when he came in. Berhalter's subs were the right ones at the right time, for a change. ++ for him.
