We've heard this rumour months ago, unless there is a link as to where you received this information I'll believe it when US Soccer Federation announces it.

Fvckin Lax over England vs US? Bah, sounds like choosing to watch a Temple game instead of an Eagles game.

any time england and argentina get together, there's nothing friendly about it...

    malvinas or falklands...

hand of god versus the alledged '66 OT winning goal which never crossed the line...

wouldn't this also mean usa would look to play argentina somewhere too??

Absolutely! Eng/Arg is the best possible non-USA international matchup.

Could this be the re-launch of the US Cup? All they would need is one more international team (assuming the US is involved)

I would love to see this match, but I will be skeptical until something is posted saying a date and time have been announced.

66 OT goal? That match was between England and West Germany and the score finished 4-2 so whether the Hurst goal crossed the line isn't make or break.

The England vs. Argentina game in '66 was a quarter-final, ended 1-0 and was pretty dirty.

How are you so sure, I'm from England and we keep hearing about two games but that no contract has been signed as the promoters are in financial difficulities. We are told an announcement is expected around the beginning of March.

I believed USA v England would be at Meadowlands, New Jersey 8 miles from New York city and that Argentina v England will be in Philadelphia, so at the Giants Stadium, then.

Unofficial dates, we've heard are 26 May in New York and 29 May in Philadelphia.

Anyone with any definite info, please post it here. Not many England fans are expected to travel over.

Giants Stadium = Meadowlands if there was any confusion for our English friends. It is indeed in New Jersey, but both the New York Giants and New York Jets football (American) teams play there. The only problem is that it's got artificial turf.

And the Metrostars MLS team plays there as well.
But for big international games a grass pitch is usually brought in.

Thanks very much for the info guys, and I'm glad a grass pitch would be brought in.

Any idea of a venue in Philadelphia, I see the Lincoln Field is in use and understand Baseball grounds are no good as the pitches are too small, so that leaves according to worldstadiums.com

    Beaver Stadium at University Park, home to the Penn State Nittany Lions;
    or
the Franklin Field, home of the Pennsylvania Quakers.

I see there is a soccer ground the Wachovia Stadium home of the Philadelphia Kixx but as it only holds 17,500.

Once all this is confirmed info on Sports bars in New York and Philadelphia would be greatly appreciated.

    Best wishes from England.

You were initiailly correct in Lincoln Field. The Linc is actually an AMerican Football stadium with 67, 000 capacity. Philly baseball is played at a stadium right next door. The Linc is where Manchester United played their games in Philly. The US Womens team has played there as well.
