I am a bit confused on if the game will be on TV and when. The US Soccer site says the game will have a 2:30 ET kickoff. http://www.ussoccer.com/events/competitions.sps?iType=263 Oddly enough, ESPN Soccernet says the game will be shown live on ESPN2 at 8:00 ET. If anyone has comments, thoughts, or other info, it would hopefully eliminate some confusion.
The story above says 8:00 as well. 2:30 makes no sense for a Wednesday game so I'd guess 8:00 ET is correct.
Well the attached link states there will be a pre-game concert between 1 and 7pm TnT time. http://www.trinisportstuff.com/ash weds ad.htm#Top Trinidad and Tobago are 1 hr ahead of us so a 8pm game time stated on Soccernet would be 9pm local TnT time. This makes more sense then having the game at 2:30pm in the afternoon in the midday sun. By the way, $350 TT equals $56.9 USD at todays exchange rate of 0.1626 Wish the darn Euro was that cheap!
SoccerNet either shows the time in your local time zone, or Eastern. I'm not sure which. In any case the game is an 8:00 ET / 5:00 PT kickoff.
Looks like we were all wrong. The US Soccer site as well as the ESPN schedule says it will be live at 2:30 pm ET. Guess I'll have to skip some school for this one.
Yeah ESPN site has it @ 2:30 and the USPA site has it @2:30 also this really sucks well I guess I'll call in sick that day ENG vs. HOL at the same time on FSC aka FSW
Yes, that is odd. People in T&T work during the day and they lime on the weekends. (You'll have to go to Port of Spain to get a definition of what it means to lime.)
TiVo them. For SoCals, meet at Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena for an early lunch at 11:30. Should be a lot of fun. (US v. T&T. I don't know when the England game is, but its just a friendly so I'm not as concerned.)
Yeah, we can get behind Mexico in the line marked: "Bitch about time and location of away matches." Just sayin, I doubt they appreciated the kickoff of La Guerra Fria being after night fall, given the already frigid temps. Not many complaining about that gamesmanship around here back in the day. (most hold it up as a fine example to be emulated going fwd, in fact).
Of course we don't, it's not our match. We don't get any say with TV rights either, I'm simply happy that it's not on PPV. I suspect TnT thinks they can gain a competitive advantage playing in the daytime sun against players coming in from the US and Europe.
